Alaskans at Disney! 7 Days of Dining Reviews with Pics! (update #14, 7-9-08)

Yum! All looks delicious!! :cool1:

We're planning on going to Tusker House for breakfast in January, so I've got a couple of questions for you...

What time did you make your ADR for? And how long were you at the restaurant for? And did you still make it in time for park opening? And what colour pants were you wearing?

Okay, forget that last question.

Like you, I want to make an ADR for before the park opening time. But I want to have enough time to have a yummy breakfast, and still be able to head straight to Everest right at opening time! :thumbsup2

Thanks for your fab reviews so far!

Great report! I really enjoyed your Tusker House review, and you have a few others that are on our list for November!

:thumbsup2

Great reviews so far and a bonus with the pictures. Keep them coming please.....

Great reviews and pics. You have a lovely family too. I too have a breakfast ADR at Tuskerhouse before park opening. I am interested in getting to Kilamanjaro Safari (not EE - kids too young) in time for opening, so would be interested in any info you have in this regard.

I am also now curious to know what color pants you were wearing? :lmao:

:goodvibes

cool- thanks for the tusker house review- it's on our ADR list for June! Did the characters rotate often enough? My kids REALLY want to dine with Donald and Daisy.

Aww.....I loved the Tusker review.....unfortunately, back when I was making my ADRs, I avoided any character dining, and now I'm sorry I did. I just called today, and they are booked solid for breakfast for the two days that I have planned on visiting AK on.

Well, that just one more excuse to come back in the future!

Love your reviews so far, so much detail, thanks :)

Oh and your kids are very cute :goodvibes

Yay!! I love food reports and food pictures!!!

Alaska?? Wow. I couldn't do it. Allergic to the cold. Swear to Mickey, I get hives if I get really cold. :beach: <- me :cold: <- not me!!!!

Hi
Great reviews!! Can't wait for more. We'll be trying Donalds breakfast for the first time in August. Looks great. Thanks!

I was wearing denim jean shorts that day with a polo, even though the early morning was a bit brisk, but being from Alaska I'm kinda used to that. :)

The Tusker House breakfast was for 8:10am and we were at the gate by 7:55am which was good since the walk was at leat 10 minutes to get to Tusker. I think we were at the resturant for about 1 hour and they seated us about 5 min after our ADR, so we got out in the park about 9:15-9:20ish, still plenty of time to hit stuff up without large crowds. I would have like to have had a tad earlier even, so do that if you can.

I would recommend hitting the Safari's for a fastpass, then going to everest. I on the otherhand was a bit silly in that I sent the wife and kids into the safari line and walked to everest to get fast passes and came back. When I got back there was no way I could find them (insert slight panic here, but not too much...). The nice CM's let me up the fastpass line so I could look for them. I found them after waiting for about 10-15 min for the regualr line to catch up to where the fastpass line comes close and joined them in the other line. The Safari's were a lot of fun and I'm so glad we went!

We found that the charcters all rotate through about every hour it seems for nearly all the character breakfasts we did, and we had a good amount of them.

They are all happy to give autogrpahs and pose for pictures. If you encourage them, some of the characters will do antics and play with your kids a little. We had the best playing experience at Garden Grille on our first day actually...Chip N Dale are trouble makers...and that Pluto sneaks up on people...fun times!

Only 1 time did we miss any chactarer and that was a O'hana's where we missed Stitch, we we did see him in the hallway though.

So, in summary, if you can stay for the hour, you will almost certainly get to meet all the Safari characters! :thumbsup2

Great reviews and pictures. Can't wait for more!
