Alaskan Members Cruise 2015

Hi all, just got back from the FIRST DVC Members cruise to Alaska! Who else went!!!

We leave in 3 weeks!! What can you tell us about the cruise?? We are all waiting for details - as soon as you unpack LOL

Hi there bjakmom... My wife and I loved it! it was our first members cruise. The weather was so perfect! High's in the low 70's, not a cloud in the sky. Don't get discouraged by the weather in Vancouver if it's not good when you leave.

As for the dining rotation... It was great! I think ours was, Animators, Parrot, Tritons etc...

The 4X4 tour in Skagway was great! If you (or anyone) go on this, tell Sabrina the loud guy said hello!

Hi missyp.. Formal night was day 2 and semi formal was day ... 5 I think? You can find out yours by calling the cruise desk.

Also as for activities... Was very different being that it was a members cruise however, we did get to see "Inside Out" 4 weeks before it's release! A MUST SEE when it comes out!

They also debuted the new Disney frozen theme and show on deck 9. (Think of it as a replacement for Pirates of the Caribbean night) including the buffet afterwards.

What night was the Frozen party?

Caveat for Frozen fans: The stage show was terrible. It was basically the pirates show with the songs changed out. The members cruise is filled to the brim with people who live for Disney, and I talked to no one who liked it. Unless you have some small children who would enjoy it just for the opportunity to jump around for 25 minutes, do something else. Everything else about the cruise was terrific.

OK, that's a shame so many people were disappointed. Let's hope they have time to tweak it before my cruise!

BTW, which night was Frozen? Was it Day 3, Tracy Arm day or Day 4, Skagway day?

I'm sorry Elaine, I don't recall which night it was, it's all a big blur now. Maybe someone else can post that info. BTW, make sure you have the DCL app on your phone, it is excellent and very handy.

Hi there Elaine ... So ok.. truth be told from a DINK... The show was kind of lame HOWEVER... it WAS the first time it was ever shown in public. I am sure it will improve. Can you really name anything that Disney does not perfect?

I believe it was on Day 4

Show listing was as follows

Day 1 was "All Aboard! Let the Magic Begin"
Day 2 was "The Golden Mickeys"
Day 3 was the showing of "inside out"
Day 4 was the showing of Tomorrowland (Freezing the night away deck 9)
Day 5 was "Toy Story Musical"
Day 6 was "Wishes"
Day 7 was a Broadway songs


Hope that helps! Keep in mind this was a little different than your cruise will be as far as the showings ...

fyi.... the DCL app does work with Blackberry 10 phones with Snap. You can see the daily schedules, but the ship map was not working last summer.

Yes, they had both. The Frozen menu replaced the Golden Mickey's menu.
