Alaska question...we live at the base of the Rocky Mountains...

Absolutely! We live in Denver and worried the same thing about our Alaska cruise last year. It was amazing. We spent hours just walking the decks and sitting on our balcony watching the scenery go by. I think it's the juxtaposition of the mountains and the water. I've always said the Rocky Mountains are one of the most beautiful places on earth - and I still feel that way. But Alaska knocked them down a notch on the rankings!
