This week's cruise-related activity will be packing up the gifts for the exchange. Finally finished the last weekend. Question: the label I am including for mine just has our names, DIS usernames, and stateroom. Is there any other info that I am missing?

I just did ours with our last name and cabin #, which may be confusing come to think of it - but oh well, they are done and the first suitcase is packed! 3 weeks and counting......

Hey,

Our gifts have a tag with our name and a tag with the receivers name. I am going to group them together by cabin with a temporary paper. I don't think our gifts are going to fit in a FE, so I will have to figure that out when we make deliveries! I made a list of names with cabin number and put in order of "attack" so we are not running up, down and fore and aft!

It is getting close!!!!

I could be wrong but I believe for mother's day, there was a special free button or a flower or small something. I wouldn't be surprised at a button or a special pin for purchase.

Just a heads up that if you are flying into Canada, entry requirements have recently changed. U.S. citizens traveling with a valid passport should be fine, but if your situation is different you might want to look it up.

(Also, a literal reading of their webpage suggests to me that U.S. Citizen minors of all ages traveling with parents now need a passport, where they didn't before. I suspect this was sloppy writing on their part, but you probably want to check with someone official if that pertains to you)

Edit: Entry by boat has not changed, so there shouldn't be anything new for returning to port at the end of the cruise.

While I'm too late to join the FE group, I am looking for other families with daughters in the 8-11 age group. My daughter will be turning 10 in June (the week we return from the cruise). She is pretty shy when it comes to initiating new friendships while on vacations so any help from the beginning is perfect for her! Having some friends to hang out with would definitely make her very happy!

Question about the fish extenders:
We had planned to use a canvas bag rather than get something designed specifically as a fish extender, but I see now that there is a limited width available. Would a bag still work if more than 9" wide?

You can go a bit wider, but it will stick out into the hallway if you do. I would think an inch or two wouldn't be a huge deal, but much wider than that and you run the risk of folks bumping into it and knocking it down, or it just generally getting in the way (the hallways are pretty narrow).

Hey all - 5 days and counting - can't wait to meet everyone on board!

Just in case you missed the chatter on the boards we can now (as of this morning) pre-book the Character breakfast and both the Princess and Frozen Meet & Greets on-line, no more rushing around on day one to get tickets! If you go online they are listed under the new 'On Board Fun" tab in the activities area. I was able to get all three reserved this morning, and as of right now there is still quite a bit of availability as far as times/days go.

Hey, yes my friend that we are going on the cruise with just emailed me about this. She got a email notice about signing up. She was able sign us up for all three! It is nice to have someone do it for you!!!!

We had to Vancouver tomorrow. Looking forward very much to our trip! See everyone soon.

It looks like I'm way too late to join the FE groups, but our party has already done some prep work. Are there others here who would be interested in starting a new FE group? I'd be happy to facilitate.

Is anyone else planning to try to snag an upgrade at the port? We have an early PAT and are currently in an ocean view room, since it looks like there are still a handful of veranda rooms open, we may try to see if we can get one day of. My only concern is communicating changes in room numbers to the FE group - do we have a plan on how to handle this?

I think your best bet is to go to the meetup and tell people. Or maybe leave a note in other fish extenders. There will most likely be people who will miss the change though.

EDIT: Actually, should we make it a plan that no gifts be delivered on day 1 so people can leave notes of room changes in their groups' FEs?
