I am waiting for us to get a brand new laser printer in our office so I can start printing up some door bling. Hopefully there will be lots out there.

Has anyone on the first Alaska sailing post their navigators yet???

Hi All,

I wanted to do the late dinner seating and was really excited when the group was slated for that but then when the defacto leader of our personal group did the PC cruise and had late seating she decided that it was just too late soooo... she changed everyone (with our permission of course) to the early seating again. I was actually bummed because I was looking forward to not having to rush back to the ship on port days to make it in time for dinner.

Of course I thought I was being so smart when I booked our Palo dinner reservation by setting it for 8 pm on the night we will be in Skagway. I figured that it would be nice to not have to rush back to the ship, and that it would be enjoyable to sit up in Palo and watch the ship leaving the port whilst we enjoyed our repast. Wouldn't you know it though, the one menu I am the MOST excited about is the Taste of Alaska (I do love me some Crab legs :-) and from the reports I have seen thus far, that menu is served on the night we will be in Skagway. So, I may or may not be enjoying the Palo fare but may elect to see if they can get me the Crab, Salmon and possibly the Elk (curiosity may get the better of me there). Alternatively, I may consider switching our Palo reservation for another night.

I haven't decided yet. Of course, I could always ask our server to save me a plate :-) We will see...

I spent the better part of today sculpting two gum paste models of some dear friends of ours for the cake topper for her birthday party this Sunday. I wound up doing her and her hubby to go along with the working miniature telescope I made a couple of nights ago.

I hope she likes them all. I also hope she doesn't decide to bite the head off of her figure (which I have had happen to a couple of the pieces I have done for other cakes in the past) because after all the time and detail that went into the sculpt I think I would just break down and cry right there in the middle of the party!

I hear you with regard to worrying albeit jokingly about finding out if you are wanted for anything. I always have that fleeting thought whenever I am confronted with anything "official". Of course my DH then put it into perspective for me when I was doing the happy dance about getting our PP cards and saying how excited I was about the fact that they meant we were going to be allowed to leave the country. He smirked and then pointed out that what they really meant was that we were allowed to return.

Well, since I have already done my nightly "have they assigned us a cabin yet" check I can now go back to obsessing about FE's.

Take care all, help lots of people and have a "Wonder"ful day

Tisza

If you do cancel Palo, could you let me know and I will try to book your cancelled reservation.

Thanks :flower3:

I absolutely will :-) Last time I checked they still had availability for couples but I think that was before they opened reservations up at the 75 day point.

Just make sure that I have your cabin number in case we make the decision late in the game.

Activities seem less then usual to me. That or it is just that Carnival had more to do. :confused3

I REALLY want to see the menus :rolleyes1

I was thinking the same thing when reading the Navigator....They always had a lot of wine, beer and Martini(my Fav) and Tequila tasting and only saw one time for 2 of them. The Adult activities were also not so much. Their was also less for the kids/Teens activities. Also not so many choices for the movie theater either...there are usually at least 6 movies showing....I think I saw only like 3 or 4 choices all week.

Maybe it is because of the time they went. Maybe they just figured that more people will be out sight seeing than in the activities....if ya think about it a lot of people always go to the Caribbean and such....but never to Alaska so most will be out taking pictures.:confused3

Also maybe because of the price of gas they cut back on entertainment as to save some money.....who knows but for sure when reading it it looked boring. Usually like what I see and get excited...not so much this time. :coffee:

I have come to the conclusion that I don't want to look at anymore pictures of the last cruise....why you ask??? because I want to see it all first hand for myself. Don't want to ruin any EWWWWW'S and AAAAAAAAAAAA'SSSSSS moments because I was the same thing in someones pictures.

Got enough already from the trip reports I have posted and got a good taste of what to expect.

By the way before I forget ...those that have not done FE before dont forget to get your plastic cable ties to tie them on to the Fish so they don't get stolen....well make it harder for them to get stolen.

Thanks! Not much happening during sea days. Granted the views are beautiful but a nice family activity thrown in would be nice, especially since sitting pool side in the sun is probably not an option.

I agree...and you know it was freezing on Deck on some days and DCL had to know that a lot of folks may want to get out of the cold and do something fun in between sight seeing.

from reading the posts from the first cruisers they seemed to feel it was an awesome cruise. the problem with 7 day cruises they go so darn fast.....I love the 10 day and 15 day cruises.....would have loved to do the Repo cruise and than Alaska....or at least do the Repo cruise come back home and than in July do the Alaskan part of it....

Heres to hoping that they will add some more stuff to do:woohoo::cheer2:

Kim can I get an update on the FE list to add to page #1....I am sure that you may have some I do not. also if anyone sees that they are not added yet and wants to be added please let us know :thumbsup2

Tom how many in your group are doing the FE?

Also everyone...please look to see if I have all your info...cabin numbers and such....its easier to find you to deliver your FE gifts if we know where you will be living that week :lmao:

Thanks! :goodvibes
