For those that have taken a helicopter excursion in Skagway (June): Was weather an issue in delays or cancellations? Was weather better in a.m. or p.m. for flying?
We are looking to book an independent excursion for a helicopter flight and yes, it is refundable if weather is bad, however I was hoping to reduce the chances. We have option times of 9:15 am or 2:15 pm. Which do you think is better?

My husband worked for Temsco in AK for years. The weather changes every 20 minutes (seriously LOL) so time doesn't necessarily matter. Either time you choose will be worth it!

I used to work for Temsco too! (Actually, I think half of Alaska has). I would book the 2:15---while bad weather can indeed happen at any time, especially driving, pouring, sideways rain...fog is more likely to be in the morning or evening, and afternoon can be a sweet spot for that. And fog stops a lot of takeoffs (less in the summer than in the winter, but it can be foggy in SE Alaska at any time during the year).
