ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Hurray! Got logged into the Disney Cruise site this morning and got our Best of Skagway reservations made for both couples.. w00t! Have been hoping to read a review of this excursion - but haven't spotted one yet.

I also completed our online checkin - will prob walk my father-in-law thru it when we visit for July 4th, since there's no big hurry on that.

Is there a way to check your onboard credit on the DCL website? We booked & PIF'd with our Disney Visa & wanted to confirm that we get the $50 credit I've read about here...

FYI - we talked about the cruise a bit on the latest episode of our podcast - check out the link in my signature if you're interested....

Tracey, if you didn't book through a TA, you can call DCL to get your credits otherwise your TA has to do it. I've never had a problem not receiving my Disney Visa credit when I have used it. You just need to make sure that is the card you used for the deposit and all payments.

Hey, All. We finally booked our flights, :cool1::cool1::cool1:!!!!

Question: Are VISAS required to enter Canada? There was a site that said that they were required. Could someone let me know? I am going to continue to see what else I can find out.

Whoo Hoo  for your DS ~ how wonderful. 2 Homeruns is awesome! I bet he was so happy and you were so proud.
:thumbsup2

Thanks!! We will be palying Baseball through July 22nd. Hoping to make the World Series for Little League!!!!

Kimberly, I will print off the final FE and bring some extras with me. At the Dis meet the 1st day (3:15 Promenade) we can cover any changes then that have occurred at port. We'll know all the GTY's before we leave. I'll also have the name tags with our logo to give out at the meet:goodvibes

Love it!!However we are checking in late. We will be at the boat at 3pm. Tuesday is are ONLY day in Vancouver. Bad planning so hoping to see lots of it. Sorry to miss the meeting. Is there a chance you could leave the name tags and FE list at the front desk. SORRY:worship:

It sure would be nice for some to get some pixie dust upgrades. pixiedust: They have been showing just verandah rooms available for awhile now--only 4's & 5's, so maybe we are pretty close to being full? And I don't think they have released any specials for our cruise, unless I missed them. (not that I would have qualified for any of them anyways)

Hoping. We will be at port late. So this is the ONLY way we will move up from deck 2. Looks like it would be nice to have deck 6 for easy delivery of FE's

***:yay::yay::yay:I leave Saturday for my WDW vacation---so if there are any changes or new peeps joining us, I'll add them when I get back.***

Have LOTS of FUN!!!!

Kimberly, that's great news about your son! What an accomplishment to be on an All-Star team. I do hope that your family circumstances work out well for all.

Thanks!!! Playing through July 22 nd. Here hoping we make it far.

We got our package from Cafe Press yesterday, and they did a nice job. :thumbsup2 Even my husband, who is usually not interested and takes no part in planning, thought everything looked good. As soon as I figure out how to add photos, I'll post them.

Post!!! Want to see!!

Out of curiosity, I decided to check to see what stateroom availabily for our cruise was looking like.

Well, the only thing that is available are staterooms with verandahs. Here is a specific break-down:

Category 5C - Guarantee only
Category 5B - 8 rooms are available
Category 5A - 8 rooms are available
Category 4E - Guarantee only
Category 4B - 8 rooms are available
Category 4A - 8 rooms are available

I was amazed to see that many rooms available with verandah. I ain't gonna lie, I wouldn't mind a bit of pixiedust::goodvibes:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::thumbsup2:cheer2:! It would be kinda of nice since we will be celebrating both DH's birthday and our anniversary.

I would be absolutely thrilled with an upgrade to either the Walt or Roy.....I am NOT picky. I'll take either! :rotfl:

Congrats on bookings and flights!!!:banana::banana::banana:

That would be sweet to be in the Roy or the Walt--but I'd rather have 3 vacations than 1:goodvibes

My girlfriend stayed in the Roy with her family and her best friends family. The parents and my other girlfriend and I were on two but you know where we really spent the time;)

It is absolutely wonderful up there but her DS didn't care for it since he got sea-sick  . So he stayed with us one night and his gparents the other night til he was feeling better (we were on deck 2).

That was my very first Disney Cruise!:thumbsup2

Glad you got your Skagway excursion. :cheer2:

I have decided to do a DCL excursion in Skagway too instead of doing Haines on my own so will be booking tonight. I am hoping it is still open too.

Hi Paula, Pam Mills here... (millsp1964) We are still good to go. I will chat with hubby about the meeting aboard ship on 8/30. We will not be doing the fish extenders. I wanted to give you our stateroom number #7570. We are very excited, although we are having some travel issues. I never imagined that THIS cruise would turn out to be so expensive. Anyway....can't wait! Pan

Hi Pam, I'll update your info. Hopefully your dh will want to come, Alan was really apprehensive at 1st about meeting my Dis friends. He used to call them my "Disney Cult":rotfl::rotfl:

Hopefully your issues work themselves out. When we did the WBTA in 2010 the cruise was the EASY part--getting to Barcelona was an entirely different matter--one day a cheap oneway opened up to Paris and it all came together and even let us extend our time over there. We are flying into Seattle instead of Vancouver due to the cost and taking the Quick Shuttle to Vancouver (with an Entertainment coupon) RT for $50 per person instead of $100. Feel free to ask us questions--we've all had to figure out getting there:)

We've sailed on every deck except for 1 and really never had an issues with sea sickness. We've actually sailed on deck 2 3 times and really liked it. It seemed very convenient and of course with 5 close friends as neighbors it was a blast.

No one I know has sailed in it while we were on the same cruise. I would love to see it one day, but I'm perfectly content in my regular ole stateroom. It's the same reasoning that I never want to fly 1st class:rolleyes1

I may have an extra entertainment coupon if anyone needs one. Still haven't booked flights but if we fly out of Seattle, we found a one way carrental for $100 which is much less than 5 of us on the Shuttle.

Just saw Brunch available for parties 1-2.

PJ, that was probably your own booking you saw. It will always show you availability when you go look--it's ONE of the quirks with DCL's website.

You got a great deal on the the rental:cool1::cool1: I just didn't want to have to worry with doing the driving and with 6 of us and luggage so I never bothered to check rates, the shuttle was the way for us to go:)

Never thought of that! Guess I won't be able to help others who may be watching for brunch openings...sorry. :(

We really don't want to deal with rental and luggage either, but the cost was worth it. We really hope to fly out of Vancouver but air fares aren't cooperating either direction.

Airfares are crazy, but I guess they are something we'll get used to. What gets me the most about them are the additional fees for seating in certain rows, luggage etc. We fly SWA most of the time out of Louisville as long as the times are good, just to avoid the extra fees. I want the airlines to be profitable, I just like knowing when I pay for a ticket--I have paid for everything:sad2:
