ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

thanks PJ! I am keeping my fingers crossed as that is the only think I need to book ~ Palo.

thanks Brenda! Glad to know I can book one of each. Will do the brunch and dinner and then I can always cancel if he doesn't wanna "dress up" :)

LOVE ALL THE EXCITEMENT!!! Can't wait to read the reports tomorrow and see what everyone has booked both Tours and Palo. So make sure you report in with all your plans.

Also, been reading there might be a change in dinner theme nights? Does anyone know and can list what they think the dinner schedule and show schedule is.

Also, was talking to a company in Ketchikan yesterday and they gave me a heads up that the Disney boat is working hard to try to get the boat in earlier. There trying for 12:30

That would be really nice to get into Ketchikan earlier.:goodvibes

I'll look for that list. I know it is on Liz's navigator

Day 3: One of the cruise entertainers
Day 4: Movie (for us it was African Cats)
Day 5: Toy Story The Musical
Day 6: One of the cruise entertainers
Day 7: Dreams

Menus/Themes:

Day 1: The restaurant menu (Island Dinner for Parrot Cay, French

Day 2: (At Sea) Formal Night, with the Golden Mickeys menu.

Day 5: (Juneau) Restaurant menu, Pirate Attire or Cruise Casual.
Day 6: (Ketchikan) Captain's Gala menu, Semi-Formal attire.

The only thing I have read is that they change the Semi Formal to last night.

We are sailing August 30th too! Good to know Palo might still be open tonight. I'm in Hawaii, so that's 6pm I think my time for ressies.

Welcome Aboard!!!!! I am sending you a private message to get you added to our roster:goodvibes

Me too, Happy if we get in earlier to Ketchikan!

That is gonna wreck havoc with the packing!:confused3

I'm really hoping they move it forward instead of later if they move. Otherwise, we'll be in our nice clothes for late dinner and then have to rush back to get packed.

Moving it forward throws it to Juneau. We've had semi formals on the last night before (a couple of times), it's not bad at all. Packing to go home is so much easier than packing to go on vacation. I always get out of my dinner clothes right after dinner anyway and just put on what I am wearing off the ship the next day. :)

It's opposite for us as I pack as I go for a trip but we always find ourselevs rushed at the end. Having just got off the Dream, we had to cut our last dinner short to go back and pack up and still mistakenly packed our passports in our luggage. :(

Never thought of that...the only problem is the shoes...for the semi formal (if they move it) I will probably wear slippers because we have the late dinner and the "nice" shoes will be packed. And the slippers and the dress can go into my carry on. Then I will just repack when I get into the hotel that night.

Luggage goes out at 8pm or 10pm?

I am still trying to nail down what we will be doing. It is so hard that Disney charges adults at 10. My son is twelve and if we go outside Disney he gets charged child prices.

Having such a hard time planning out our tours. Any thoughts or advice would be great. It will be my mom, DS 12 and DD5 going. The only problem is Disney charges my son as an adult, if we go outside Disney he charged at a child. That can mean big savings.

Skagway causing me the most craziness. Trying to decided between these....(any advice and thoughts)

*On our own Liarsville with transportation $44 and $22 ( No Characters)
then go on Summer Dog Sled wheel cart on own $129 and $89

OR
Disney White Pass Railroad & Liarsville (No Characters, short time) $168,$85

OR
Disney Liarsville $89 ,$49 son has to pay adult prices (But private and characters
then Summer Dog Sled on our own $129 , $89

IN Juneau

My mom & son are doing a Glacier Trek. So that leaves me and Becca on our own. Don't know if I should play a whale trip. Such mixed reviews with little kids. People said even though they saw whales it was hard for the little kids to see them. Ideas on if we go, who with.
Otherwise thinking taking public transportation to the GLACIER $26.

Thanks any ideas welcomed.

I BOOK TONIGHT AT 9PM. HOPING TO GET THE TOURS AND PALO MEALS.

THANKS!!!!!

Juneau--I know the Marv whale trip will make you book private when you have kids and that would be really expensive just for the 2 of you. I am really hoping we see a lot of whales from the ship. Seems like there are lots of good feedback with them.

My mom & the rest of the party are doing Mendenhal through the public shuttles--much cheaper and then they can stay as long as they like.

Skagway--There should still be room on our Dyea Dave tour to Emerald Lake, we are taking the train for the return-----It's a long tour 6-7 hours and I didn't read where we would see any pups.
Liarsville on your own---I would check that and perhaps try to be there at the same time Disney's is.:rolleyes1

There are times we don't get our luggage out until after 11pm. I am always apologizing to my room steward:rolleyes1 because we always do late dinner.

Actually, the easiest thing is to get your cases packed except for one in the afternoon, or just pack as the clothes get dirty (For a week cruise I'm not planning on using the laundry) Then you just have 1 to put your dinner stuff in.

No packing passports in the luggage this time!!!!!!!!
PJ, it's so much easier on the week or longer cruises--you will find you actually have time to relax. You won't believe it until your acually on one and experience it for yourself:flower3:

Day 7: Remember the Magic

The only thing I have read is that they change the Semi Formal to last night.

On the Alaska cruises, the last night is Disney Dreams, they are NOT doing Remember the Magic.

Thanks Linda, I like Dreams better than Remember the Magic:)

Did they do the adult shows in the Walt Disney Theater or the Rockin' Bar D? I guess it depends on the ratio of kids there are onboard? The last couple I have been on there were less than 200 kids on the ship.

Thanks everyone for all your help. 3 1/2 hours to go!!!

PAULA - I thought I read a post from you about suggestions for get our reservations tonight. Can't find it. But I thought it said something about not logging until the time starts. Mine is 9pm tonight. Is this correct? Can I be logged on at 8pm? Any help would be great!!

Thanks.:yay:

That's exactly what we are hoping Paula, but we also realize it will ruin us for all future cruises. ;)
