ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Whales------I think it was the May 3rd trip report that is on the boards that she said they saw 2 whales on their excursion and followed them for about a half hour each. She said the 9:30 excursion didn't see any and they got their $$ back. I am thinking it was the $100 they refunded if they didn't see a whale.

I'll be up booking on DCL tonight at midnight for Palo. If anyone has any questions I will be happy to look them up for you.

Is there an updated FE list yet? Gotta start on ordering the supplies for the FE gifts soon (not that I'm that creative, just need a number to order) Not like our last cruise where there were over 100 staterooms participating !!

I'd like to add my parents and grandma

Room 8600 (they got moved to a HA room for my grandma!!)
Wade (sixty something :) )
Mickey (yup that's my mom's name :) Her birthday is 9/6 (also sixty something)
Idell (93)

Thanks,

CG

Made the changes:) Hope they get a kick out of it!

I spent time today thinking of FE gifts. I have a stockpile I had made but they are not very fitting for the Alaska cruise. I did download a few signs to use for the doors off the creative board. So a little progress :goodvibes

does anyone think there will be any advantage to being on the last Alaska DCL that departs for the year and out of Vancouver? Just started thinking about maybe they would be dumping excess inventory or giving a gift similar to inaugural cruises. . .(well maybe i should say "wishful thinking". . .)

We were the September TA crossing and they had marked down all the stuff remaining for the Med. Seems like they may have had the TA stuff maybe marked down at the end, but pickings were sparce.

I don't think they discounted any of the WB Panama Canal stuff (there was actually not very much at all--green tee shirt and a white sweat shirt hoodie) There were magnets that were discounted.

When we did the EB Panama Canal nothing was marked down until the next cruise which we did back to back. Got some great deals then!!!

My suggestion is if you really want something buy it, don't try to hold off hoping they will mark it down sometimes they do run low on different sizes. The Wonder is going into dry dock right after our cruise, so they may have lots of stuff on sale---we can hope can't we:goodvibes

Now if you don't wear something, you can return it:rolleyes1, if they happen to put it on sale

There would probabaly only be 2 of us (can't decide if 5 yr old would like this or not). Will definitely keep it in our options!

On a complete separate note, does anyone know how close DCL will allow us to book excursions? For example, if an excursion is schedueld to end at noon, could we make one that starts at 12:30? 12:45? 1?

PJ, that was a gripe that they have mentioned with booking on DCL. I don't know what the allowed time difference has to be. I'd call DCL and ask them. It would sure beat getting frustrated online when you are trying to book them.

I am such a dufus...I wrote a question on one of the boards but can't remember which one and now can't find if there was an answer BUT it was similar to the one asked and answered here so Thank You.:)

I think I am gonna have to call DCL to ask since the last time I tried to get something from Disney that was time sensitive I missed out.

I am so not creative....or artistic.....or any such stuff like that....
sooo, couple of questions please.

1) Does the gifts have to be fitting for the cruise or can you expand to include Disney stuff, local stuff from home, cruise stuff?

2) If you do door magnets, do you down load the signs/stuff from the boards and glue them to magnetic boards or something like that?

3) For the mickey ears do you use poster board for the cut out and put magnets? or does it just supposed to fit around?

I know I probably should ask on the thread section but I really really feel stupid asking these things there.

Thanks

Can you see my breath releasing. I have stopped holding it....for now.

Boy am I surprised that those 3 port packages have gone already.

Is there only one time for the "City tour, Gardens and Glass" tour at 12:45?
I am hoping for one earlier like 8am.

I am certainly hoping that they will have everything out for us!

In addition, when I was in Alaska in 07 on the Princess last cruise there were great deals in the ports as well...so make room in that luggage!:rotfl:

They can be whatever you want them to be. I just do not want to use what I have currently because it is really geared for the Carribbean. BUT if I get really short on time I would use them, they are cute:)

2) If you do door magnets, do you down load the signs/stuff from the boards and glue them to magnetic boards or something like that?
Yes, I download from the Dis and then use paint to personalize them. Most of the time I print them on photo paper, but regular paper works also. Some people will go to the expense of printing them on magnetic sheets. I afix magnet strips that I cut in thirds or squares. It just depends on what I pick up at the store. I have also used the clear plastic page protectors and just cut the edge off and afix magnets to that. It makes it easy to switch out signs.
3) For the mickey ears do you use poster board for the cut out and put magnets? or does it just supposed to fit around?
The Mickey ears I print on photo paper and cut them out and slap a magnet on them. They fit around your room number on the door. You could always just cut them out of construction paper and put magnets on them.

Thanks

Any other ?, just ask:)
