gang just want to let ppl know that Alaska Air dropped the fares to fly into LAX and SNA. I got a great deal today; saved $100 from what I had been seeing lately (( from Seattle)).

You scared me for a minute there.

We are flying Portland, OR to SNA the beginning of Nov. and already bought our tickets. I looked just now and I'm glad we bought last week since our flights have gone UP quite a lot. Our return flight is almost full.

You don't say when you are flying (month, day of week, time of day) since all these factor in the pricing.

Glad you were able to get better rates but it may not apply to everyone's flights.

I am booked for Oct, as per my ticker being a month and a bit away ;)

I am saw the cheap rate all through Oct morning, noon and night, didn't look into Nov as I am not travelling then. Sunday was the only 'expensive' day on the calendar and even then it's just over $100.

Our next trip to DL begins mid-October. I got tired of waiting for Alaska to drop it's prices out of SeaTac to John Wayne, so we booked Jet Blue into Long Beach just last week. Congrats on the great fare--wish I had held out one more week!

we almost had gone Jet blue but the flight options aren't as vast, I am glad I ended up holding out.

We're going to use the savings on air to spend a couple extra days in Seattle when we return. Our last trip was a whirlwind 24 hours border to border trip to see the Mariners a couple weeks ago.

Thanks...I checked West Jet and they dropped their price last night too! I booked flights going to DL but nothing for the way back.:rolleyes1

For those that have tickets on Alaska air, it does pay to watch their fares even after you buy tickets. They will refund or give your a credit if they lower the prices after you purchase. https://www.alaskaair.com/content/d...e-guarantee.aspx?lid=JennWindow::ResponseLink

Thank you for this! I doubt our tickets will go down at this point but it's nice to know they offer this. I thought buying their lowest fare meant you can't make any changes or get any refunds. I keep checking our flights even after I booked, but like I said earlier ours have gone up in price.

Per the fine print, if you have a nonrefundable ticket, you will be given a credit for a future flight, not a refund. But, hey, I figure that is better than nothing and I know there will always be another flight!

Yup! Just booked us this morning from Seattle to LAX for $160 return:cool1: We drive from Vancouver, BC to Seattle because what it cost for 3 of us out of SEA is what one flight from Vancouver is, crazy! Worth the 2.5 hour drive :drive:

I was able to get a $20 reduction on one leg of my flight to Maui. They give it to ou as a credit towards next flight. That helped a lot with our Bellingham to SNA DL flights in Nov!
I love Alaska air.

I'm bummed. Prices from Alaska through Seattle did not go down. Same price as a couple of weeks ago. But FYI it's a lot cheaper from alaska into ontario in october.

Editing to clarify cheaper into Ontario than into Sna or lgb

last Tuesday I book two going to LAX on the 2nd of Oct at 73$ ow from Sea, right now coming back on the 8th its 78$ down from 108$. I am hoping they hold on until Tuesday the 11th that's when I plan to buy the return flight.

In case you haven't done it before, remember to budget for the parking costs. Parking AT the airport is horribly expensive. Parking offsite isn't as bad, but it adds up!

Remember, however, that transportation from Ontario (and LGB) can be MUCH higher than from SNA or even LAX. I once thought I was helping my budget by using ONT, only to find out that SuperShuttle was much more expensive there than to/from SNA or LAX. Totally blew the savings on the flight with that transportation error.

Alaska airlines went up 20.00 this morning!! coming from los angeles to Seattle, America airlines drop to 78.00:cool1:, two more days thats all I ask!.:hourglass

Right. $62 super shuttle was way cheaper than $400 extra in tickets for us. Good to remember to check.

Thanks op! I got a $19 refund for future use. Not huge but I would rather have it than not. I love these boards- people are just so darn helpful and generous.

We actually ended up renting a car from Hotwire.
Pick up at SNA. Drop off in SanPedro by the cruise dock.
Less than $100 for 5 days. Cheaper than shuttle or cab from SNA to DL and DL to SAnPedro

That might be an option from ONT depending on number of people and where you stay.

I've been watching prices for May (yeah I know, it's early) from PDX-SNA on Alaska and prices went down about $130 from last week....putting r/t tickets for my dates at $221 including taxes.

Sold...on payday lol ;)
