Are the alarm clocks in the staterooms still a regular clock? I was hoping they would have put digital ones in the room that will light up at night by now.

They are still the propeller ones - I agree they should have digital ones - particularly in the inside cabins - I still have to wear a wristwatch that lights up to see what time it is.

No, you still have the propeller clock that you cannot read at night. I would highly recommend bringing a travel alarm clock that you can see when it is dark.

Maybe the new ships will have them.

Thank you! I am going to look into getting a nice travel one or atleast something then! I hated not knowing what it was ever! I guess having a porthole will help that a little this time though.

We just set up the Mickey Mouse wake up call on the phone in place of an alarm clock.

No ther propeller clock does not light up but it is a an alarm clock. I didn't know this until we bought one. If you are using it to wake you up it is one though.

I'm so near sighted, that a digital clock display would have to be about a foot tall for me to see it without my glasses, so I end up sleeping with my watch on if I want to be able to check the time.

The clock in the propeller clock is removable, and the hands of the clock have glow in the dark dots on their ends. We just pull the clock out and put it on the nightstand.

I sleep with travel clock under my pillow. I push the "glow" button when I wake in the middle of my sleep to find out if it is the middle of the night or almost time to get up.

I just got an Ipod touch and found this application, that turns your ipod into a clock with illuminated numbers .

This is what we usually do. But I recommend having a back up plan. When we went on our B2B cruises last month, the wake up call system was down for both weeks. They had Guest Services doing wake up calls but didn't really feel right having them wake me from my afternoon nap and hard to set an accurate time on the propeller clock--took a week to figure out we were losing time on that clock due to dying batteries. (Really missed the wake-up call system. Plus we got a wake-up call from GS at 7am on our Port Canaveral day between the two cruises that we never requested. Haven't figured out why because their were other B2B'ers who got the same unrequested call!)

"Night Stand" is another good free iPod/iPhone app. We will be using it on our cruise in March.
