We will be a party of 5: 3 adults, 2 kids with carseats. I reserved a Standard SUV(Chevy TRailblazer) for $153 & a 7 passenger Minivan (Chevy Uplander)for $171. Which is best for 5 with a double stroller and at least 4 medium-large suitcases?

I am not real familiar with these vehicles, but I would have to guess that the minivan has more seats and possibly more room? Are they similar in price? My sister recently rented from Alamo at MCO and she said they got to go to the lot and pick whatever they wanted.

We just had the same situation in Dec. I had actually reserved a full size car :lmao: but when we got to Nat'l emerald reserve the only vehicles they had were vans. :scratchin Boy were we glad, because we definitely needed that much room. We had a 7 passenger Uplander. (no extra charge either)
We had to lay down one of the back seats to get all of the luggage in, but it worked great. We had one very large suitcase, 5 wheeled carryons, + 3 backpacks. Then we added the coats (came from OH and it was cold)

I have a Ford Explorer which is similar in size to a TrailBlazer. I have twins and when they were little I always had a double stroller in the back on trips plus there was definitely plenty of room for other luggage. I am not sure about the minivan though but as long as you don't need the rear seats and can fold them down I think you would be ok with that too. I would go with what's cheaper.

Not necessarily. I have a Mazda MPV minivan and the last row folds down if more luggage space needed. But if people need to use the third row, I have very little little luggage space since individual seats would not fold down. I don't know much about Alamo's Chevy Uplander's features.

With the Uplander, you have two rear seats that fold down separately.
We also had 3 adults, 2 children 7 & 9. One adult sat in very back and children in middle. Your carseats would fit in middle. The big thing is how much luggage you will have. If you don't think this will work, I'd go for full size van. Trailblazer would definitely not work as I have driven one of these too.

Another thought: Go to car dealership and look at the Uplander, then you'll know for sure.

Or you can go to chevrolet.com and take a look at the uplander. I think you should go with that one...JMO though. If the trunk storage is not enough space you know you always have the area where on the back passanger side to put stuff, and between the seats. You also have the area all the way in the back were there won't be anyone sitting to put bags.

I have never seen the inside of the Trailblazer but I am pretty sure they don't have the third row of seats so that means your extra adult would have to :crowded: between two car seats .

Whatever you decide have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

With 3 adults and 2 car seats I would go with a minivan. The adult sitting in the backseat of the SUV will be squished with the 2 carseats. The prices you got are pretty close and I think in the long run you will be all more comfortable. Have a great trip.

we just rented the uplander from alamo in january. we have 2 adults, 3 kids with car seats(5, 3 & 9 months). it was 2 captain chairs in the second row, with a full 3rd row. there was a good amount of storage in the back as well. we had 2 strollers (1 single & 1 double) 2 big suitcases, 1 medium & 1 big carry on bag). on our way back to the airport we even fit 2 more adults with their 2 small bags into the van. it was tight with 7 people in there, but doable. i think i would go with the minivan rather than suv, just to make sure there would be enough room for the luggage and for less than $20 you would have the peace of mind that everything would fit. enjoy your trip!! :teeth:

...the 3rd adult has a very small behind, can they sit inbetween the 2 car seats in the Trailblazer. :crowded:

It did have a nice amount of storage room, though.

We had to do this a couple of days (had 2 SUVs rented between 5 adults & 2 kids in car seats) when we split up & luckily I could fit inbetween the 2 kids. But I realize that is not for everyone & I wouldn't want to do it to save just a few dollars.

The mini-van would definitely give everyone a better ride.
