We are picking up an Alamo vehicle at 12:30am, and I'd LOVE to skip the counter and go directly to the garage. I have rented from Alamo before and am an Insiders member, but haven't done skip the counter. If I give them the required info (license number that they have, and a credit card) will I be able to skip the counter, or will I have to go to the counter anyhow because it's the first time we've used this service? I would LOVE to get to the hotel ASAP!
(I should add, I reserved a "they pick" vehicle... would this make any difference?)

Not sure about Orlando but at Tampa Alamo had kiosks that allowed you to skip the counter. Just had to scan my drivers license and credit card and the machine printed out my contract. We then went straight to the car.

Ask for a midsize. Usually cheap. There is a row of midsize and you can take your pick. I've gotten chrysler minivans two out of the three last times. Yes anything in the midsze row you can take. Keys on the dash and you are checked out at exit booth. Very fast

You just pick car, drive out, stop at the kiosk (I mean the one at exit, while you are in car) and show license and credit card. Takes a few minutes, so fast.

We were able to go straight to the vehicle the very first time we used Alamo. It's why we used them. Others wanted us to go by the counter the first time. As long as we loaded all the required info, licenses, credit card, etc. It was fine. We did and it worked no problems. And it was in MCO.

We've never done they pick rental though, I don't like leaving size to chance. I'm not a gambler. I'm sure that makes no difference in going straight to the car though. Only difference is it would be different row you go to get the car. They still have folks out there to help

Make sure you have the card you used to rent on you when you are driving out

I am going to sign up for this as soon as I know our flight isn't canceled- hope that's enough in advance. I don't usually leave vehicle size to chance but (a) it's just DD and me traveling and (b) we are only renting for one day. I'm willing to roll the dice for the price, but if there were more than 2 of us, or if we had the car for more than 18 hours, I'd be booking a vehicle of my choice.
