Just checked the rate for my dates in May within the last 15 minutes, and they are down over $30 for the Midsize car we had reserved previously for a 9 day rental.
I used the following info / coupons:
Contract Id # 7014136 (Comes up Web Offer on reservation)
Coupon Code : AD2359FDF ($35 internet coupon I got from mousesavers)

Best of Luck!

I just booked a minivan at Alamo for one week from May 19-26 picking up and dropping off at 6PM for $184.53 total!

I used the Amex Code (7014291) and $35 off coupon (AD2359FDF).

The minivan was actually the cheapest rate using these codes. The rate was over $400 using these same codes yesterday.

Thanks so much for posting this. My rates for 7/13-7/20 went from $410 to $140 for a Full Size rental!!!

I just ran those exact dates and got $417 !!!! So you guys got a GREAT deal. I hear that happens sometimes. You can book one minute and 5 minutes later the rates are back up. Congrats to you all!! I hope I can get a good deal soon. My dates are 7/18 to 7/28. ;)

Even though my dates are in October I just got a convertible for $197! for the week!

I'm looking for August and my rates are still really really high. But I'm not worried. After watching for this upcoming May trip for months, they always seem to come down and go back up multiple times.:)

I always reserve as soon as we book (months out), and then keep and eye on the rates as the time goes by. We have NEVER paid more then $100 for our midsize, or suv's for our 10 day rentals. The rates will come down, be open to checking at weird hours too.

So true! Sometimes I have trouble sleeping and I have noticed major drops in the middle of the night on mid week days, only to see them way up again in the morning.
If you're up, it's always worth looking at 1 or 2 in the morning.

No luck here for June 7th and beyond....,

I just ran both discount code options posted, and the Amex code worked out to be a better discount for me. My trip isn't until November, and the discounts were not as awesome as some of yours, but it did take $100 off my 7 day rental! I will continue checking the website and hope it goes down further. Thanks so much for the heads up, every little discount helps :)

The rental rates are so up and down. The rates were a whopping 515.00 a week when I first started checking in January for our June trip. They went down to 276.00. Last week after seeing a code on this thread we got an awesome rate of 130.00 for a mid size SUV. I have not seen that rate since. So strange.

Another one keeping an eye out for August deals. Already have a res but check frequently for something better. :worship:

Not having much luck. July 21-28th and its still super super high. Hope the rates come down eventually!

Using the Amex contract ID instead of the Alamo Insiders rate saves me an additional 15 dollars or so. Unfortuantely, if I don't use the Alamo Insiders rate I will lose the inclusion of the free driver which saves me way more in the long run as we are adding my Father in law to the rental.
So I thought I'd mention it to others. If you need the free driver, it's better to sign up for Alamo Insiders and use the AA code.

Not always. BJs and Costco also have the free add'l driver. So, Amex might as well.

ETA: I just checked and AMex does not allow the free add'l driver so it would be $10 a day. Thanks for that piletto.

As I mentioned, BJs and Costco do have the free add'l driver so read your reservation closely if you need that add'l driver.

Good info on the BJ's and Costco codes. I'm not eligible for either so the only sure way I knew to get the free additional driver was to keep my Alamo Insiders rate.
