Alamo Question

This may be a stupid question, but here goes...I just made a reservation with Alamo, and it says that a passport is required for all non-US citizens. Does this REALLY apply to Canadians. We've rented with Alamo before, and have not needed the passport.

I rented from Alamo, Orlando Airport in Oct. 05. They did not require a passport from me. I believe it is more for people from other continents that want to rent. For your peace of mind, call their 1-800 # to double check. It also was the first time I rented from alamo and was trouble free and a good experience. I liked the fact it is now in the terminal. We had our bags off the plane and in our car within 20 mins.

I always rent from Alamo and not once have I had to show my passport.

Driver's License yes, Passport no!

I just got back in Jan. and I rented from Alamo. I didn't need to show a passport.

Anyone looking to rent from Alamo they have a coupon on costco.com for 25 % off of SUV's I was reading on *********** that somone rented a Chevy Equinox for $119 for 9 days. It may be worth a look.

Just back yesterday from a week trip and had an Alamo car. You do not need a passport and if you use their on-line check-in, you go right from the terminal to the pick up area where you choose the car you want. As you drive out, you need to show your drivers licence and the credit card you reserved with.

Yes, on the Alamo site there is a link where you can check in. You then print out a form with a bar code. Once at the terminal, go directly to the car pick-up area. It is really slick and hassle free.

Just pick out your car, drive to the exit kiosk, show your form, driver's licence and credit card that you reserved with and you're on your way.
