Alamo Online Reservations - Be Careful

I had two reservations. One from a long time ago that I forgot to cancel, another for a standard car for a whole week at a total of $79. Alamo sent 2 e-mails reminding me of these reservations. I clicked on the one I wanted to cancel, proceeded to cancel it, and it cancelled the reservation I wanted to keep!!!!! I called and the best they can do for the same car, same time is DOUBLE.

I am now at an economy car for $10 more than I had originally planned. Major bummer.

Be careful when you're cancelling online reservations. Even though the website has the reservation up you want to cancel, it may actually cancel a reservation you didn't intend. Either keep all reservations or call to cancel to avoid this.

That happened to me once, except I'm pretty sure I - not the website - cancelled the 'wrong' reservation. I called immediately, and blamed the whole thing on myself to each person I talked to, and after an hour and fifteen minutes and the reservation center talking to the location manager (and me having to promise him a pizza!), I had my 'good' price back.

The site gives you an opportunity to look at the reservation you wish to cancel, just make sure the numbers match(reservation number and final total) before you hit cancel for the final time.
