Alamo online check in?

I have rented an SUV for May 13 to 20th (midsize SUV-Equinox). I read somewhere that online check in was not allowed when renting a midsize SUV. Now checking Alamo website I see nothing in the rules about renting a specific car. It just says do online checkin and bypass the line in the airport. Go directly to parking garage and get your vehicle and proceed to the check out booth. Has anyone recently done this? I would love to be able to bypass that long airport line!!

I got two emails this morning from Alamo one said "sure no problem you can check in online and proceed to parking garage when you get to the airport". Second email said "sorry you must check in at the airport"! Anyone done this recently?

Not sure what their doing. When I read the online checkin rules last week, it stated that you could not do online c/i if renting suv or other speciality vehicle. Now that statement is gone. I specifically stayed with midsize car (just 2 of us) even when suv was cheaper just so I could take advantage of this feature. The only thing I know to do is call and ask.

The small print now says something like "not available for specialty vehicles".
They need to be a bit more specific on that.

We prefer the Equinox (roomy & nice rates), and before, it was clear that the mid-size suv's were not part of on line check-in, but it sounds like that's been changed.

They still don't allow the use of coupons with on line check-in, but I think codes are okay, right?
I've got a Quick Silver membership, and have a great rate for a weekend in June with an Entertainment coupon. Even if it costs a few bucks more, I'd use a code instead of the coupon, and go with on line check-in to speed things up even more.

Well....I just tried to start the online check in with an old mid size SUV ressie and it said it could not be used on that reservation BUT I used a coupon code. I just made a new reservation and it does have the "Check in now" feature enabled. It looks like they may have changed their policy!! But, still not to be used with any paper or electronic coupon.
