Alamo - Mid-size SUV cheaper than economy car?

Okay I'm here now. I changed my ressie to National and got an amazing rate, still with the midsize SUV, which was a Chevy Equinox. Wow, what a nice ride. Really felt spacious and much better than many full-size sedans I have rented. Trunk area is a good size, although because we had a folded stroller our back window was slightly blocked when driving from airport. This is from two very big suitcases, 2 smaller cases, and a folded Maclaren stroller. I think personal bags went in the front.

We used, at the suggestion of another wonderful DISer, the 25% off from vacation outlet.com, plus the coupon for $25 off SUV rentals, from Moussavers. Plus we are EA so no counter. This is one of the better car rental experiences I have ever had.

lats118 , That's a fabulous rate, would you mind sharing what codes/coupons you are using. Thanks! :)
I used a BJ's (warehouse club) code and the BJ's $20 off coupon.

I got a rate of $119 for 8days from Alamo for a midsize SUV without using any of the codes or discounts. :cool1:My dates are from May 13 to 20th.

Just traded in our convertable for the Midsize SUV. Wahoo! Saved almost $100. Thanks for the heads up!

Just went to costco.com and reduced my Midsize SUV from $210 to $177 for a 12 day rental.

Anyone have any suggestions if you are renting for less than 5 days and those days are midweek days? All the coupons I see are for 5 days or require a Saturday night stay.

ok, so do we need to be members in order to use these codes? Will they check?

We have used BJ's and did need the coupon and BJ's card.

I'm assuming all these great deals are for the months of May and June? I punched in my dates in October and can still do better at Dollar (not SUV though). Anyone getting these deals for the fall months yet? :confused3

Here is an answer to 1000. OT but she asked it on this board.
I don't know about whether the SUV has someplace to hide luggage but if you are staying at a WDW resort and flyig home you can use Magical Express for your luggage.
I have a rental car every time we travel but last someone came along with us and we had an ECV so we couldn't get all the luggage into the car.
I checked it in with Magical Express, and also checked in my flight so I didn't have to do it at the airport.
Disney took my luggage to the airport and checked it in for me so when I got home to CT I just had to go to the belt and pick up my luggage. No hassling with it at the airport on the way home. So my hands were free to shop more at the cute little shops in the airport in Orlando.
this will help yo on your last day. Peggie

I got the mid siize SUV for 2 weeks plus a day for $227. I used the ENT coupon for $20 off but would like to know where the $25 coupon is and can I combine any of those together to get a better rate?

Jen D, what is the outlet code where did you get it & what $25 off coupon?
I also have Emerald Club and would like to stay with National if possible.

Thanks, YO

Not quite. My August rental with the Walmart and BJ's codes are $91.40+ per week and $15.23+ per day. I am currently holding a 12 day rental for the midsize SUV for $214, including taxes. That's with no valid coupon yet.

That's really good - I am currently holding a 6 day rental for February for $151 with the costco code and the $25 coupon - this is on a reservation I made last November. I've seen nothing as good for February since.
