Alamo letting u pre-pay?

i got an email and it is on their webiste, i have always wanted this because you can pay off the rental and have that room on your credit card free for use. has anyone else seen this do u like this idea. I think it might pull them a lot more business and they also have online checkin so you can pass up the counters.

I got this same e-mail today and I do believe for booking this way you also get a 10% discount as well. I did the prepay on priceline last year and it worked out great. The car was all paid for by the time we went on vacation.

u know i never thought of using priceline for the rental, i should on the next trip but then you can't use coupons right- going dec 7th-29th would like a 10.00 per day rate-what did u bid for that.

Given the fluctuations in rental car prices (they often go down as dates get closer, and rebooking at new rates costs nothing) I probably wouldn't pay in advance unless I was getting a very good deal.

If you like the idea of paying for it early, though, pay yourself instead (preferably in an interest-bearing account like ING.)

Caution, Alamo has cancellation fees on many of their reservations, I'm not sure what date that starts.

I never do this... If you change your mind then you may not get a refund... Plus Alamo is not exactly doing this as a favor. They are making money off your money while they have it!

i know the rate changes, last year i checked my rate every day a few time a day, so i would not prepay unless i was just extremely happy with that was given, i would love something like 10 bucks a day since i need the car for 3 weeks, wonder if i could get that through priceline
