National and Alamo are sharing counters in some Florida airports. I don't think this is the case with MCO yet as both MCO's and Alamo's website lists Alamo as still off airport. When the parent company started through reorganization this was one of its moves. The other rental car agencies brought suit in the State of Florida and lost. Car Rental counter space is bid on a five to 10 year basis, depending on the Airport Authority. Each agency makes an minimum annual guarantee to the Authority. In the past, Alamo has pretty much stayed out of the bidding process, but I wonder if this will change now in the case of MCO, or if we will see Alamo and National try to share counter space at MCO as well.
