I know that Alamo's website says that the full size car is a Pontiac Grand Prix, but I was wondering if that is the full size car that they have been offering at MCO.

Which full size car have you gotten?

Last time(June) i got a Chevy Monte Carlo. I believe there were Malibu Maxx's and a couple of others. I did not see Grand Prix.

An impala would be fine with me at least I know what I am instore for.

Thanks!

One more question about Alamo......do they had you the keys to a car when you go to the counter or do you pick from the cars in the "Full Size" aisle?

I have never rented from them before so I am not sure how they work. Especially now that I have gone through Priceline. Does anyone know if I can add my Qsilver member # to the account so that I can bypass the standard line?

Alamo at MCO makes you pick a car and take the keys which are hanging in the door. The thing that drives me crazy is that they put both keys and the plastic tag which is like 1"x3" on a large loop and none of it can be taken off. Talk about taking up alot of room in the old pocket!!!

So it's kind of like Emeral Aisle where you get to pick your own car and then go to the check out booth....all after going to the counter inside?

When you get your luggage, you goto the counter and sign the paperwork.
You then go outside and pick your car. There will be a paper hanging on the visor. As you pull out, there is a booth with a worker in it. They will ask for the hanging paper, which they scan and they ask for your paperwork from inside. They verify all is ok and you drive away. It takes at the most 1-2 minutes once outside.

They also won't let you add your QS # to an existing ressie.....

Well they do but then it jumps the price up like $50-60 bucks so no thanks I'll wait in line for that much money.....

If you don't have a coupon that you have to produce, like the one off the alamo website, you can check in online for Alamo and skip the line. You can check in pretty far in advance to your reservation and know if you will have to go to the counter or not.

We got stuck with a PT Cruiser!!! Only held 1 large suitcase in hatch/trunk...DS had to squish in back with rest of luggage.

I complained & got a $40 credit - big deal!:confused3

Thats absolutly ludacris. I wouldn't have accepted the PT. The PT is built on the same frame as the Neon, which is a compact. Crazy Alamo! :earseek:

"It" and few others were the only vehicles left in the aisle...we were told by the lot attendant that we were lucky to get anything; they were sold out (this was 8 days before Pres. Day, no less). If we had more than 3 people we really would have been up the creek.

We're trying their sister co. Enterprise this time with EA service - hopefully, better selection.

Always check your fuel level. Our tank was down 1/8 and we were told to tell the lady at the checkout booth, the last person you see before leaving the airport. She didn't even check, she just signed our paperwork and gave us a credit for the gas.

We also got an Impala. My son who was 5 at the time could not see out the windows and got carsick every time we drove. So I need to get a different car next time...

National is their sister company
Losing my mind - we are using National EA. Wanted to use Enterprise but think they're off-site?

Trying to get decent rates for 3rd week in June - boy, are they high right now...best deal I could wrangle was 8 nights @ $225 (SUV - cheaper than economy car).

Yep, Enterprise is off-site. $225 is an OK rate (if taxes are included) for a little more then a week, but not excellent...Good Luck :earboy2:

I'm just surprised that my usual strategy (booking 9 - 10 months out with codes/coupons)) isn't working for June.

Perhaps I've just been hitting it lucky but last 2 rentals (Alamo & National) were $180 & $140 for 10 & 8 days, respectively...guess I'll just have to start budgeting more money or use ME.
