We have always selected either the Impala or Malibu.

Very cool! We are looking right now. Did you name your own price? Did you choose Alamo or was it chosen for you?

It will be a white Impala ;)

I used the name your own price... right now full size cars are going for way less than economy with the gas prices the way they are. They will choose for you... I've used priceline 3 times now and gotten Hertz once and alamo twice.
Good Luck!:wizard:

I was thinking about renting a full size, but have hesitated because I need at least an Impala for the trunk space. I don't consider a Malibu to be a full sized car at all. The rental companies are really calling a Malibu full sized??

Does the $12 also include all taxes and fees? What is your total (and how many days are you renting)?

It came to $178 total for 8 days....:goodvibes

I got 16 per day and a total of $128 for 5 days. This was for a mid-sized car.:thumbsup2 Unfortunately, I thought that I put Alamo in but got Avis and we are not keeping the car the whole time and I have to figure out how to return it since it is not Alamo and I can't return it to Care care Center or Swan.

While not MCO, we just returned from LAX renting a full size car from Alamo. On the full size row were lots of Impalas and one Dodge Charger - which is what we grabbed.

We rent full size and always see Impalas as an option in the full size row.

I just got a standard for 5 days via Priceline for $129.75 with Hertz (includes tax, etc.). Not bad considering my lowest reservation was with Alamo for $144 for a compact !

Need some priceline pointers....I need a full size car for Nov 17-24. Started bidding at 12 per day, and have been rejected all the way up to 18 per day!!! What am I doing wrong? Is it the time of the month that I need the car?

You rented via Priceline? Then your ONLY option is to return it where it says you did.

I am a little confused by the "I thought I put Alamo". However in any case returning a car to a different location then you specified on the reservation can, and probably, will void the contract and cost you. $$$$$

Macfam, you are not going to get a great deal right now. Your rental date covers part of one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. They MIGHT offer PL some cars if bookings don't meet expectations but that will happen, if it does, much closer to your date. More likely is that they will be close to fully booked and can raise rates at will. I would get a car rate you can live with now that you can cancel if you find a better deal

Thanks Orange, that's what I just did. I found a decent deal with Dollar and went ahead and reserved it. I've heard that some people don't like Dollar, but they're within my budget and I can't go much higher.

I started at the beginning where they ask which car rental you wanted. It was a drop down. Somehow I ended up on the "great offer" part of the site and I assumed that all of the information would stay the same but it turned out to be "name your own price" although the bid was already in. :confused3 What can I say, it was my first (and last) time. I called Avis and they said that I could change it when I pick up the car. How much extra do you think it will cost? I really don't have a ride back to the resort from the airport. If it is less expensive to keep the car until the last day, that is what we will do but we like Magical express for the bag check in at the resort.
