Hi all,
I've been trying to locate a coupon code for Alamo and there is nothing at Mousesavers or on the Alamo site. Any suggestions where I might find one? I am getting a nice quote with the Walmart Rate Code and ID#, and a coupon would make it really sweet!

Thanks!

Wal*Mart does not have coupons. I did, however, use my BJ's code and coupon for a very nice rate. If you are a BJ's member, check it out.

We also used the BJs code & coupon for our October trip. Much cheaper than our Dollar car last year. More $ to spend on vacation!

I just plugged in BJ's codes (including their coupon code) at Alamo and got the same rate as I did from Walmart without a coupon! I guess that Walmart currently is my best bet. This rental is for September, so I guess I'll wait till it gets closer to see if the rate drops some more.

Thanks for your help!

Did you go to the page where it totals the cost? The base rate is the same, but the coupons are deducted on the "reservation/total" page.

I ran my dates with the WalMart code and for a full size for the week it is 146.29 for a base rate. 190.36 total
With the BJ's code the base rate was 146.29 and the total with the free day coupon is 165.92.

It is not a huge difference, but, it will pay for the gas. :)

for poor customer service and bad attitudes say no to Alamo....

Alamo is fine with me....but thanks for the advice.

GAIL--thank you for your reply--I went back to Alamo's web page and went through the whole process, and the $15 was taken off at the end. Got a great deal for a midsize at a weekly base rate of $117.19; $156.33 after taxes! I assume I must have the BJ's coupon with me or they won't honor the price....do I need to show my BJ's card as well?

Yes, you would need the coupon. And, btw, I found a "free day" coupon for Alamo. I do have an extra one. See how it works for you. 489304 - id rate code: BY Coupon code - fb46,
By the way, I managed to combine the Walmart code and the coupon code and it worked.

Don't mind Nuthut, he had a problem returning a car too early and he is annoyed that they held him to a contract. I have yet to have a problem (well, one tiny one that was resolved immediately) with Alamo. Good luck!!!!

Opps, forgot, yes, I would presume you need your card and definitely need the coupon.

Also, for about 8.00 more you can have a full size car, btw.

Sorry for the duplicate posts, but, the system will not let me delete.

Thanks, Gail.
The coupon code I used was off of the BJ's site and it actually expired on 6/30/03 but Alamo still took it and gave me the confirmation. I assume an updated printable coupon will show up shortly. If not, I will get the original from my coupon book (whenever that shows up). We put the ressie under my husband's name, and he doesn't know what he did with his card (men!), so I hope they'll let that slide as long as we have the coupon.
