Alamo/Costco

I just went on the Canadian Costco site today and they now offer the same as the US Costco site as far as rentals which is great news. My question is if i book Alamo through Costco is there a way to bypass the counter and still ad a spouse as they will be doing the majority of the driving and they dont have a card?

I'm pretty sure once you have a reservation you can go to Alamo's site and enter the reservation number in and take care of some of that. I know we were able to sign up so that we could just go get a car.

When we booked it, we got the second driver for free. It said it when we did the reservation.

My mind is a little foggy on this one. If I remember correctly, before you go you should go back to the Alamo site and check in online. I usually do this a day or two before leaving, since I don't want to give the info out in case I use a different reservation. There may be an opportunity to enter the second driver information at that time. If not, there may also be an opportunity to do so when you check in at the Alamo kiosk. And if all that fails, make sure you have both licenses ready after you get the car and approach the exit gate. The gate agent should be able to enter the info and will need both licenses.

YOu can skip the counter and check in at the kiosk. Some times the kiosk wants to charge a fee for the second driver - some times it does some times it doesn't I haven't figure it out why it does. But what I do know is if it wants to charge you just present the two drivers license when you exit the garage and the person in the booth can add the person for you.

We have been using Costco lately for all of our rentals and Alamo is usually the cheapest. I always check in before the trip on the Alamo site and have always been able to add the second free driver when I am doing the online check in. On the first page, at the bottom of the driver information section, it should have a place to add an additional driver and show the charge as (for $0.00/day). I just checked our reservation for next month and saw this. Have a great trip!
