We have a compact car rented with Alamo at MCO - just wondering what kind of compact cars have people been getting??
Thanks ----

I rented in Oct 2008 and Jan 2009 and it was mostly Dodge Calibers. In Oct there were a couple HHRs and in Jan there were few Toyota Yaris's.

Thank you -----
We went through priceline & got the Alaom - compact for 8 days for $180.00. are happy with the price - was just conserned about the space - 2 adults & 2 grandkids 11 years old. Should be fine --- might have to hold some luggage on their laps!!! :tink::smickey::cheer2:pirate:

The last few times I rented from them they had a lot of Kia Spectras, Toyota Yaris's and Chevy Cobalts in the compact category. I believe that the Dodge Calibers are found at Dollar.

was the $180 before or after all those taxes? i ask because i got a midsize car from alamo online for $288 after taxes for 8 days and wanted to figure out if it was worth it to try to bid lower.
thanks

I think the Caliber and HHR are classified as intermediate, you may have been upgraded. I was at Washington Dulles a couple of weeks ago and both were on the National Emerald Aisle. A coworker I was with rented from Enterprise in Dallas last month and we got a Caliber as an intermediate, it was definitely too big for a compact.

andreadoiron --- The priceline bid was for $14.00 a day = $112.00 plus $76.20 taxes & fees = $188.20 total ----- we are going the middle of June & I put the bid in on April 11 ---

I only use Alamo and I was not upgraded. Those were the cars in the compact aisle. I am renting again in a couple of days and I will let you know about the latest car selection.

The last few times we rented a compact from Alamo they had Cobalts, HHRs, and PT Cruisers. This last time (3 weeks ago) all they had were Kia Spectra's and one Kia Optima. We took the Optima.

I had a Ford Focus as a compact rental about 3 weeks ago at MCO. It was pretty nice. The trunk space was a good size. Fit 4 full size luggage in the trunk. I had 2 adults and 13yr and 11 yr old and we all fit just fine
