Just saw a commercial for Alamo's new Kiosk. They have a blurb on it on their website, but it wasn't easy to find.

Basically, if you have an advanced reservation, your DL and your credit card, you can skip the line, confirm your reservation, review options (like car seats and insurance), get a print out receipt-type thing, get in your car and hit the person at the end of the garage.

Skipping someone hard selling insurance and a long line...sounds like Alamo made a smart decision there. I don't usually rent from them, but I'll be interested to hear how this works out.

Oh...and they do have kiosks at MCO.

We used this a few weeks ago at MCO, and it worked great! I hadn't heard about it ahead of time, and planned to go directly out to the garage as we're members of Alamo's Qu*cksilver. Instead, when I saw the kiosk terminals, I decided to try that. I think I ran through the credit card I'd made the reservation with, and it pulled the reservation up. It did ask to confirm whether you wanted the optional insurance. On the insurance and other questions, be sure to read the screens carefully because the default selection was to select "yes" to the optional items, and I had to explicitly change it to "no" or "decline".

I had a coupon that included a free additional driver, and I was able to add the driver at the kiosk also.

It was really quick and easy (as long as you read carefully), and I recommend it. No-one else was using the kiosks while I was there, and there was quite a long line at the desk at the time.

Any other questions - I'll see what I remember.

Does anyone know if you can still take advantage of these kiosks, or online check in from home, when your Alamo rental is part of a complete Disney Travel package?

The Alamo website says they do have these kiosks in the Tampa airport... if you go to the website there is a link on the first page giving info about the new kiosks and where they're located.

It says to use the kiosk, you just have to have an advanced reservation, a drivers license and a valid credit card. I just booked our May reservation and I was given an option called "save time" where I could put in all my info, including the additional drivers info. I plan on using the kiosks in May.. sounds like they'll work good!

This reminds me that I also did the info online before we went, so that may have been where I added the additional driver and not at the kiosk. I just can't remember for sure - I've slept a few times since then. :confused3

I am Qu--ksilver and it always seems to take the person at the garage kiosk forever to do the paperwork, so this option sounds great. If you have an Entertainment coupon, can you do this? Do you just give the coupon to the person at the exit gate?

I used the kiosk and had a Sam's Club coupon. They didn't ask for it at the gate, but I had it with me. I think they would normally ask for it, but perhaps the person just forgot or overlooked it. But, you can use a coupon with the kiosk.

Trying to figure the advantages of using this vs. QS / on-line check-in at home.

Was there a seperate exit booth in the garage for this? Thinking that if you get behind someone who is not using the kiosk you are still going to have to wait so why bother?

What am I missing?

I thought that you could NOT use a coupon with Online Check-In. But you CAN use a coupon with the Kiosk.

Another happy kiosk customer! There wasn't a line when we arrived (1045pm) but we still used the kiosk. There were 5 or so there. Then it spits out your receipt and you can go pick up your car outside. The receipt said to choose any car from 'x' aisle, though we did see an attendant outside as well.

No complaints from me about Alamo. I was slightly worried because I had read some negative things before our trip. Everything went smoothly though and I see the correct amount showed up on my credit card bill today.
