Although Hertz is really my favourite of them all they are usually very expensive, too expensive to use.

Totally agree - i'm only using them because of staff discount! They're overdue for a summer sale for US departures in fall/winter at the moment, hoping they'll have some decent deep discounts so i can save more and just prepay to skip the crap at the counter!

Auto Europe is quoting £547 after Quidco.
Using a 10% code & Quidco chepest I can get Hertz £637

But Auto Europe include 3 extra drivers and a tank of gas so the hertz extras would cost us quite a bit more.

Do I hold out till close the time ?

Ps I'm only interested in Alamo from DCar care or dolphin.

How/whats the best way/how much to get to Dolphin if you are not picking up the car at the airport....I'm considering only getting a car for 1 out of 2 weeks

Mears transportation quote around $21 each adult for a one way trip to the Dolphin, you can book it online. You may call at other hotels with this service as it is a small mini bus.

Alternatively a town car service such as FL Tours charge around $70 for a one way trip (based on 2 adults)

Sometimes it is as cheap to hire our car for the full 2 weeks, especially if it is one of the smaller cars.

Just booked an economy car for a week in November using the link from the WDTC UK site. Pickup from Buena Vista Palace, full insurance, extra driver - £125. Got no complaints!

You go via Quidco first then add to the end of the URL /brits & press enter.

Mixed reports on getting the cashback though, some say it works, others say it doesn't. Never tried myself.

as far as i know, the only place in florida with automatic only tolls is in miami...(i.e., no manned lanes at all)....
everywhere else, there is a lane with a person where you can pay the toll (not automatic)...that's the lane i always use....
you have to watch for it because in some places the manned toll booth is way over to the right (straight on are the automatic lanes), but they have manned lanes everywhere but in miami...

Bex is doing a bit of a roadtrip, some of the roads have unmanned tolls which can only be used with an electronic transponder or they need to be byepassed. Some rental companies have lower fees than others, Alamo & Hertz being the better two IIRC.
I used this system in April when we flew into Miami, drove to Key West then up the west coast. It saved us a little time compared to the free roads but it was expensive for the little time saved. About $40 in fees for very little use.
Around the theme park area its far cheaper to pay cash.

yep we are road tripping i used the quidco link with my alamo brit booking so hopefully will get some cashback aswell
