We went to the Saturday night show and it was excellent. The costumes were colourful and dazzling, just gorgeous. The backdrops and sets beautiful, great details. There were 2 glitches that caused some delays but since it was the second night of the show, hopefully they can work out the kinks so it doesn't impact future performances but they were minor. The performers were fabulous. You could really see how much they love what they do and they all just shined. There was plenty of humor during the show and it was pretty fast paced. There is one scene that happens shortly after the intermission that is just magical. Our 6 year old sat there and said "whoa!". We were all wowed. Surprisingly at least to me there were not as many families or children at the show like I thought there would be. Our girls really enjoyed it. I thought there would be a lot more kids but it is a great show for families. Only saw 1 little girl dressed in a Jasmine costume. Unlike Disney on ice where they have loads of Disney merchandise and trinkets to purchase, there was nothing for the Aladdin show. There was a t-shirt, sweatshirt, a mug. My daughter was disappointed about that but it saved us a bit of money! For Ariel fans, the Elgin theater has the Little Mermaid show that starts this month for a couple weeks. I haven't seen any advertising for it. The Lion King is coming back in April of 2014 at the Princess of Wales and Beauty and the Beast will be playing in Mississauga at I think it will be The Living Arts Center next April as well.

Is it the same production that's runs at the Hyperion Theater in Disneyland?
Do you recommend to bring the little ones? Mine doesn't like anything if is not cute and fun. He loved Disney on Ice shows but want to leave after 15 minutes of Cirque de Soulie ( expensive waste of !$$!!)Rest assured that the production of Aladdin is NOT a Networks show. It is Disney thu and thru. And it shows ! You will not be disappointed. That scene in act 2 mentioned by the previous poster is a true E-ticket scene! It alone is worth the cost of admission.

Oh man. I miss doing grown up stuffs.... (Well grown up Disney stuffs) My TV in the living room constantly tuned to only one channel..., Disney Jr. ...I wouldn't recommend it then. It is a long show. It started at 7:30 and was done at about 10:15. It isn't everyone's cup of tea and if my kids couldn't handle a Cirque performance we would have passed on this. We would have been pretty disappointed if we would have to spend the show trying to convince them to stick it out to the end, and it would probrably bother those around us.
We saw it today and they still had technical difficulties which caused them to drop the curtain for 5 min during the climactic Magic Carpet scene. Kind of a buzz kill.
I thought the first ACT was too long and didn't pick up until the Genie arrived. The show needs way less filler and way more Genie. We've seen the DL one about 4x and it is so fast paced, I felt this one dragged.
Not a total disapointment but I think with some tweaking it could be much better. The 3 friends of Aladdin were in the original draft of the movie and I can see why they were cut.
That sounds like some of the stuff the star revier said in their 2 star out of 4 review. I wonder if Disney will do some tweaks on it before it hits broadway?
