It looks like Aladdin going down in September is related to construction on the trolley tracks in front of the Hyperion theater. MousePlanet guessed it might be down until November 21.

Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular begins a construction-related hiatus starting September 7, as work to connect the two sections of Red Car Line tracks already constructed in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot leaves the theater inaccessible. The show is not on the entertainment schedule for the remainder of September, and the October schedule has not yet been released. Recent auditions for the show stated that rehearsals for the new cast would begin October 17, with performances beginning November 21, so it is possible the show will be on hiatus until then.

How depressing! Haven't seen this show for years. We were so happy when they said they were extending it. We are there Nov 11 - 20. Oh well, I guess that leaves more time for more Tower of Terror rides.

I figured that this was going to happen. Trolley Tracks, Show transition to Toy Story. It's a bummer because I may go then and TSM is down for a while after Labor day as well.

I don't believe they are switching to Toy Story anymore... word was that show isn't very good, and there was an uproar when it was announced to replace Aladdin. Last I read Aladdin was going to be shown when possible through all the construction and the refurb on the Hyperion that will happen sometime...

nope, not sure where they get their source from...

Aladdin and tower can only be access from bugs land.

Wow, so it looks like there will be nothing to draw me to DCA during the day while I'm there with Aladdin dark and TSMM down. I'm seriously re-thinking if I even want to see WOC and set foot in DCA period. And here I thought I wouldn't go through what I went through planning my cancelled July trip after everything I was looking forward to seeing got taken away.

I hear ya, Belle Ella!!! I was originally planing on a 4-day trip to DL for early October...but now that all these closures are being posted, I'll only visit DL on two days...on 10/5 my SO & I will attend the Halloween party at DL (we'll be in the park 3pm to 11pm)...then on 10/7 we'll go to DL in the morning to ride stuff we missed on 10/5, then head over to DCA in the afternoon for Screamin & Aladdin before having dinner and then catching the only showing of WoC at 8:15pm...I'm hoping TSM opens earlier than Oct 10th...maybe they will have a soft re-opening before then and then I can ride it then...we'll see...

Also in the OP link:

...The planned refurbishment of Toy Story Midway Mania has been extended by an extra day, and now there is a rumor coming out of the Disney Gossip Blog (link) that the closure is to install station gates on the unload side, to prevent cast members from falling into the ride vehicle track. A cast member who works on the ride said that workers have been told that there will also be some minor, cosmetic changes to the ride vehicle itself.

well wahh, i have never gotten to see this show and was really looking forward to it. guess i will just have to figure out how to get back again to see it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it reopens 10/7! This is one show I have somehow never seen and DD is really into Jasmine right now. I really hope we get to see it...

The DCA entertainment schedule is published out to Oct 23 and I do not see Aladdin. :sad1:

whew, thankfully for us it is open next weekend, we were looking forward to seeing it

this for the first time:)
