Al Zarqawi "knew what hit him".

There is a couple of interviews out there. The one I referenced is basically the one with E.D. Hill on Fox News. Yup, he sounded "out of touch".

That explains it.

Did you hear Michael Berg say those exact words or did you hear E.D.'s translations?

Edit.

Also, if the beheader was wearing a mask in the video...

Why would he be considered "out of touch" to not believe it was Zarqawi?

Unbelievable!! Zarqawi was more than "inconvenient" to the Iraqi people. He has the blood of 20,000 of them on his hands. Assassination is a term that usually applies to a head of government, he was nothing more than a terrorist who killed indiscriminately. Don't consider his death "revenge" but more like "preventive medicine". BTW. How do you feel about abortion on demand? Consider his removal a post term abortion.

Yes, he does/did have the blood of many on his hands. I just do not think we have any business invading and bombing another country in search of certain parties that reside there. Violence only begets violence. I have little confidence we can mow down every potential Zarqawi out there. Death is only a deterrent to people that care if they live or die.

Well I'm not ashamed to admit that It gives me pleasure to think that the last sight he saw was United States Special Ops FOrces looking down on him.

I heard the interview. Why would it be "out of touch"? Zarqawi took "credit" for it. Lets suspend belief for a minute and assume he hired a stand in, it would at the least, be Zarqawi by proxy.

Countries that harbor terrorists are our enemies, just as much as the terrorist. Death is also a deterrent to the extent that dead people do not offend again. When it comes to terrorists, we will not run out of bombs or bullets.

I hope the virgins were BUTT ugly and smelled.

Murder??? :confused3

Sorry, but this is the way war works. You get the bad guys whenever and where ever you can.

Would you be ok with him going down in blaze of bullets from our troops if he was shooting at them?

Now don't be so mean spirited. I hope he "RESTS IN PIECES". :rotfl2:

So now they're the enemy? A couple posts back we were saving the inconvenienced Iraqi people because he bloodied 20,000 of them. :confused3

Look at GWB's approval ratings. Support for this administration will run out long before they go through all their bombs and bullets.

I am certainly thankful that GWB doesn't live by poll numbers, stays the course and does the right thing.

I'm no fan of the Iraq invasion or this bullcrap war. but those two bombs took out a coldblooded killer that beheaded innocent US citizens. hopefully, the 39 raids that took place last night just from the intel found at the bomb site will keep tightening the noose.

al-Qaeda brought the war to us. if you're going to declare yourself one of them and swear allegiance to Bin Laden, you need to be ready to be a martyr. and the news that he tried to roll off of the stretcher when he saw our troops proves to me he wasn't ready. I hope his pain was immense.

The only right thing GWB could do is resign... Won't someone please do for him what Monica did for Clinton so we can be done with him?
I can't believe I voted for him in 2000
I'm ashamed

If you're really lucky, his support will keep going lower and lower until eventually it gets into negative numbers. Then time will start to reverse and we'll go back to 2004 and you'll have another chance.

But even if that doesn't happen, my money's on W not winning again. But knowing some on the looney left, the odds could change.

If any President is a likely candidate for that, he certainly fits the bill.

Murder?? I call it justice. :thumbsup2

Look out Bin Laden, there's a missle with your name on it to splatter your sick perverted butt all over earth and hell.

Good news! Not only did we get the slime ball, but he knew what him. After he was mortally wounded and Iraqi security forces arrived and put him on a stretcher, he was alive and conscious. American soldiers arrived, he recognized them and tried to roll off of the gurney. I hope the last face he saw was an American GI!!!

I'm obviously late to the party on this one, but can you cite a source where you heard/read this, or is this speculation?

I watched a White House press confrence that confirmed it.

But fee free to do a GOOGLE NEWS search for "Zarqawi Alive", then click on one of the thousands of hits.

Indeed. Thanks a lot! As cold as it seems, I'm glad it happened that way. I'm not sure if any of you ever watched a full beheading video (I saw a number of them), but it was easily the most disturbing thing I've ever seen in my life.

I really don't get the whole hype thing here.

Al Zarqawi = 1 bad man.

It's not as if anyone's going to surrender; if anything, the bad guys are more annoyed than ever. Plus, inevitably some new weirdo is going to get his job and things will keep happening.

The only effective violent way to deal with terrorists is to make terrorism unthinkable. If a terrorist shoots a child, we'd have to shoot a school full of children. If a terrorist bombs a house, we'd have to level a city. If a terrorist uses a chemical weapon, we'd have to gas their families.

That's it, full stop. That's the only violent way you could even begin to stem the tide of violence emanating from these distorted people. Simply playing tit-for-tat isn't gonna do a single thing, as the UK found out with the IRA after decades of violence, including a guilty until proven innocent scheme, etc.

Honestly, if you think this death is going to make the slightest bit of difference your head is somewhere in the clouds with the fairies and leprechauns.

I know, I know, jingoists love to glorify anything and everything nasty that happens to an enemy, grasping at the straws and declaring that they've won before the war has even started, but seriously, wake up.

This is a "war", we are told. It's not a fairy story. Sleighing the dragon will not defeat the minions, because the minions will keep on coming forever and ever more.

The world knows that such conflicts have no end through violence. If you honestly think otherwise, you'd probably best talk to the mother of one of the 186 children killed in Beslan not two years ago as part of a bloody conflict between one force and another, neither of which will ever compromise, back down, seek peace or anything.

And for what? Some fable of how the nobles defeated the savages? Pride? Patriotism? You try selling that propaganda to the mother who cradled her daughter as she died with the words "help me" on her lips.

My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori.
