We will be at disney May 11-17 & originally booked CR wing room for 6 nights. Then I thought it would be nice to see another resort so the least expensive resort with 2 queen beds are ALK & WL. I cannot afford a savannah view, so these would be standard view rooms. What do you think? I was thinking ALK because the kids love animals. Which do you like the best? Which has the best bus service?

Thanks. :)

I'm starting to sound like a "broken record" to myself...so I apologize to other readers who must be thinking...(oh ghast...here she is again...bet she's going to say something about the AKL again)
Well csmommy...(this is for your "eyes" only);)

We stayed at both the WL and AKL last month.
The transportation from the WL to the MK was nothing less than outstanding...other than that....you will share your transportation with Fort Wilderness.

The AKL...(oh no...here she goes)  is nothing less than AWESOME....I just don't feel that there is a comparison between these two resorts.
The transportation is "dedicated"...you don't make stops at any other resort.

Thinking your kids will "fall in love" with the AKL....having a standard room will not diminish your experience...there are so many animal viewing areas...

Trust me on this one.............

Ok, you've convinced me, I'm calling tonight & booking AKL. Now my fingers are crossed for some promo codes!

Thanks!

csmommy you don't happen to have kids do you? mommy stands for something else right?

well, I have to say my kids LOVE AKL. That's the only resort they want to go to and would probably stay in it all day. Atleast until they found out the animals wouldn't be outside the room all day.
My youngest thinks that pool is the best. Even better than the PO pool with the dragon/alligator slide thing.

Good luck! Enjoy your trip

Gone Disney

My DD is 4 1/2 & DS is 7 1/2. When DS was turning 5 we took our first trip to Disney, now we are doing the "Princess Tour" for DD!

I am so excited for you and yours !!!

Make sure you request the "Hidden Mickey" checklist from the front desk when you arrive....your kids...AND you...will have a hoot with this...
Also make sure they attend the storytelling offered in the evenings...there are SO many things for your kids to do at this hotel !!!!!

Oh she'll like that! In case you haven't already, Ask for the bunk beds. My kids really like them better than the double bed.

You are going to have fun!

HIDDEN MICKEY LIST!?!?!?!

Now you tell me. I've got to make a list right now. Things to remember about the resort.

I second Jinnys nomination for AKL...

I just can't say enough good things about this resort - the atmosphere, the lobby and animal viewing areas, the pool - the friendly guides to talk to & the bus tranportation is super.

Also - even though you are booking a standard room - you never know - you may get an free upgrade to a savanna view at check-in.

Best wishes
