Al Gore uses 20 TIMES as much electricity as you do

How many grand exits are you going to make?

How many personal attacks are you going to make?

Great debating tactic. When all else fails, attack the other person personally or call them cheap immature names.

Oh you forgot to use the ever popular :rotfl2: and:rotfl:

:rotfl2:

And I wasn't putting words in his mouth, he claims to be an environmentalist but doesn't bother to use environmentally friendly technology (until now). That was my point, not that he preached the use of solar panels, the issue was he SHOULD be using solar panels if he is going to claim to be an environmentalist.
.

Ok humor me and show something showing his "claim" of being an environmentalist, since this is not another example of you putting words in his mouth. Keep it simple, any quotes saying "I CLAIM I AM AN ENVIRONMENTALIST", will be accepted.

You used the words "preached" when referring to Solar panels, but forget about that. Just that the only thing I have seen preached were little things, he never suggested to anyone such a big expense as installing solar panels.

He preached little things like..
Check tire pressure
Turn off electronics not being used
plant a tree
adjust thermostat a couple degrees.

http://www.climatecrisis.net/pdf/10things.pdf

I dont feel that makes him the greatest environmentalist of our time, and has nothing to do with solar panels.

I also find it funny that you are now crying about personal attacks, can you not read your own posts:confused3

I would say he has some catching up to do, and I find it Ironic that you call Gore a hypocrite.

Anybody that thinks this guy is legit should seriously re-examine your thinking because you are being played like a cheap fiddle.
Judging by some on this board that scream environmentalism, then state that they drive SUVs:rotfl2: I imagine that they could contribute enough hot air to fuel a moon rocket. (And 'dats a big 'un.):lmao:

I'm done with this. If you people cannot see the hypocrisy with this guy you are truely truely blinded by whatever it is you are blinded by. I officially give up.

No I take it all back Al Gore is the perfect kind of hero for you people.:rotfl2: :lmao:

But I see logic is as useful with you people as taking sand to the beach.

Again, Al Gore, perfect role model for ya.

Hypocrites are the best kind of spokeperson for their causes.

I've heard O.J Simpson is available for victims rights activism if you guys want to hero worship him too. His speaking fees are only about $20 thousand a day. That's a lot cheaper than the environmentalist champion Al Gore.

Really? I mean really??? You are equating Al Gore with O.J. Simpson? Because that makes you ever so rational and logical.

This is all Luvy knows, sadly....

You're not serious are you?

The whole "green" movement, Oscar's go "green", algore buying carbon offsets, etc., is clearly an environmentalist movement. Whether or not those specific words were spoken by him is not relevant.

What makes it hypcritical is when he takes private jets to circle the globe and spends 20 times the amount of energy on his own primary home (not to mention the rest of his homes).

I think the analogy is that OJ would be seen as hypocritical in that arena as alogre is in the environmentalist arena.

One's a hypocrite, the other's a hyporcirtical murderer....

I can only assume that the figures are correct in reguards to Gores usage. And if they are, they aren't that bad. I believe and I could be wrong, but the average home has three bedrooms, his is 6 times that size. So as far as I can see he is actually doing pretty good for a home of that size.

His house is 6 times larger than the average home but uses 20 times as much energy. I don't see how that can be remotely considered "doing pretty good".

The post I replied to said "HE CLAIMED", I was asking for verification of said claim. The post did not say anything about a movement or how others view him.

In your opinion it is hypocritical for him to fly on a plane even though he has never told others not to fly. That is fine, you stated your opinion without putting words in anyones mouth. I dont agree with you but opinions differ all the time.

You feel it is hypocritical that his home uses more energy than the average 2 bedroom home, even though he has never preached that everyone should live in an average sized home. Fine that is your opinion and is very valid, I feel that if you took steps to minimize consumption and reduce the impact regardless of size he is walking the walk.

He is not telling others to do somthing that he is not willing to do himself, but if you have examples of things he has told others to do but not done himself I would tend to agree with your hypocritical stance.

Have you calculated your carbon footprint yet? Here is a link for a calculator. http://www.climatecrisis.net/takeaction/carboncalculator/ After you have calculated your carbon footprint, this link tells you have to purchase offsets. http://www.nativeenergy.com/Splash/ClimateCrisis/ClimateCrisis.html?climatecrisis My offsets would be less than $400 per year and I have a decent size home and drive a SUV. Before you start complaining how mean it is for only the rich to be able to afford to purchase offsets, you really should do the math.

Why not get rid of the SUV and "green up" your house? You don't because it's cheaper and you don't have to lift a finger or alter your lifestyle one bit. Then you get to claim "I'm GREEN!".

Sorry Kyle, that's not "walking the walk", it's ********.

Two questions and a follow-up:

1) Who's "alogre"?

2) What is a "hyporcirtical murderer"?

Follow-up: For that matter, what is a hypocritical murderer?

You can't make this stuff up. :lmao:

Gore has spoken openly about the inherent contradictions involved in his travel. His folks do the offsets thing, but there is also inherently a judgment that he can accomplish more by spreading his message than the environmental cost of the logistics of what's involved in spreading the message. That message got spread a lot by his appearance (and Melissa Etheridge's) on the Oscar show.

I'm not even sure exactly how I feel about that message, but I definitely see the "hypocrite" attack as a silly ad hominem diversion from actually discussing the issue of climate change.

I can only guess that you're as mean spirited and ugly tempered in real life as you are on the net, given your're here so much...

I believe calling someone "mean spirited and ugly tempered" is a personal attack.

Please cease and desist or I will be forced to report the next personal attack.
