Al Capone's & Arabian Nights?

Anyone been to these? ARe they worth it? Thanks for any info.

We went to Capone's back in 1994 and it was an okay experience. We had a buy one get one free coupon and it ended up costing about $30.00 for both of us with tip -- and they really lay it on thick for the tip. The food was palatable, but if you're interested in a good meal, I'd avoid it. The show itself was fun and entertaining. Alot may have changed since 1994 so maybe someone else can help you out with a more recent review.

We've been to Capone's twice (1997 and 2001) and we really enjoy it. The last time we went, I laughed so much my cheeks hurt. The food is fine (nothing fancy, mainly pasta if I remember correctly) and the entertainment is cheesy but that is what makes it so much fun! Your drinks are included in the price - I think there was a rum punch, beer and pop to choose from. It's good for the whole family, and there is an abundance of 2 for 1 coupons which makes it a great deal.

Could someone compare Arabian nights to Medieval Times? Is one better than the other?

Isn't there also a Pirate-themed dinner theater experience? Anyone been to that recently?

Here's how I rate the various dinner shows (and I visit each one every year);

Medieval Times - the best all-round family show (especially for boys)
Arabian Nights - great for horse lovers; stylish show.
Sleuth's - fun, lively murder mystery dinner theatre; great for older kids and those who like a bit of improv comedy
Pirates Dinner Adventure - the most elaborate staging (but poor acoustics), ho-hum food, again great fun for kids (and good value, too, at almost 4 hours, if you go from doors open to he end-of-show pirate disco).
The Outta Control Magic Show (at WonderWorks) - a decent up-close magic show, all-you-can-eat pizza and some reasonable comedy (kids love the magic tricks).
Capone's - the last time I did this I wasn't impressed; cold, unappetising food, a lame show and very poor service. Not one I'd recommend.

Capone's wasn't good food wise. It was a bunch of pasta slapped on a not so clean buffet line. I did like how the waiters all had an attitude. They give you a hard time everytime they come up to your table. They put on a good show. They usually only refill a beer mug when you empty it. I kept emptying my mug so much, the waiter slapped a pitcher in front of me! It is the cheapest place around for a dinner show with a coupon. Cheap beer is served though, it was Natural Light or Busch as I recall.

Didn't pay attention to the show much to tell you the truth. Coupons are all over the place in front of all the tacky souviner shops on 192. I would go back based on the price alone and the edge it has.

Are there coupons floating around for Medevial Times?

Also: "cheap beer". I just about died laughing! When we went in 1988 or 89, we found out that at least in some areas of Florida, the stuff we considered 'rot gut' which my dad & husband drank because it was the cheapest at home was a premium beer in several places in Florida!!! My poor mom about died for what she had to pay for it there! (Old Milwaukee).

We got the coupon in our hotel lobby but I did see them in front of lots of souvenir shops as well... Whichever show you decide on, I'm sure you will have a great time...

My best friend just got back from her WDW trip and got a deal on Arabian Nights when she ordered her hoppers through Ticketmania. She was so excited because she was going out for prime rib and thought the show would be fun. She's worked in a lot of restaurants and thought prime rib couldn't be screwed up too badly, but she honestly couldn't eat it. She wasn't sure if it was even prime rib. She said for all she knew it could have been a ham steak. She's not a picky person at all so this really surprised me. She said the horses were beautiful and well trained, but she didn't stay for the entire show. All of the seats are bleacher seats and she said that was not comfortable either.

FWIW, I rate Arabian Nights way, way, way above Capone's. It's regularly voted the favorite dinner show by Orlando residents.

I rate Medieval Times somewhat below Arabian Nights. My main caveat is that the sound level is painful. Otherwise a fun show.

And anyone who thinks going to these dinner shows is a good way to have a fine dining experience has been, like Bogey in "Casablanca," misinformed.

We've tried almost ever dinner show in the Orlando area and if you're going for the food, you'll be disappointed. If you're going for the entertainment, you should have a good time.

Medieval Times is our family favorite but it can get very loud.

Arabian Knights is great for a one time try if you're really not into horses. The horses are beautiful and very well trained but it is only horses. Not really much of a story line.

Capone's again is great for a one time try. The food is mediocre at best but the waitstaff makes it fun. The show is very cheesy but a lot of fun.

Mystery Theater is a lot of fun if you're outgoing and "can play well with others". You're seated with other people at tables (unless you're a large party and have your own table) and the object is to solve the mystery. There's one spokesperson at each table and it can get pretty funny with some of the questions. I'm no good figuring out clues but I enjoyed it.

I could go on but the main idea here is they're all worth it at least once. There are 2 for 1 tickets, $$$'s off tickets, etc. and you usually can find all this in your hotel lobbey or even on the net. I've downloaded coupons from the Orlando sites which we've used before with no problems. Whichever one you choose, I'm sure you'll enjoy.

We were at Capone's in October of 2000 while we were down for our honeymoon. My in-laws live in the area (well, just north, in Zephyrhills) and they went with us. Food was decent, believe me, I have eaten much worse! The best part was that we were seated at our own table for four, not on the big tables, and we were located right by the door, so we did a lot of interacting with the cast. I think because there was so much talking back and forth (the girl, Bunny? was that her name? was asking for tips on how to get her main squeeze to marry her after she found out we were there on our honeymoon!), and we had an all around good time with them. Our waiter was a blast as well. He was so "rude" that sometimes he couldn't even keep a straight face. I would go back again and recommend it, but when making a reservation, ask if you can be in the back section, with the private tables.
