AKV--where are the villas located on the property?

I'm renting points for AKV, and need to give the owner my requests. so a few questions:

Looking at the AK map, I can't tell where the Villas are located. Are they centrally located, or spread throughout the property?

What is my best chance of getting 1st floor or elevator? We have a special needs child, and stairs will be really hard for us to navigate.

I'm hoping some of you evening posters will have some insight for me so I can get back to the owner. Thanks a million!

Between now and early 2009, the only part of AKV that will be open will be the villas on the 5th and 6th floors of the Lodge building. The villas occupy the entire 5th floor of the Lodge except for a few rooms along the front of the resort, and occupy all of the 6th floor (which consists of only five 2BR lockoffs, all Concierge rooms).

Which category did you book? If it was a Savanna View your room could be anywhere on the 5th floor of the Lodge building in which case have the owner ask for a room near the elevator or near the lobby. If you booked a Standard View your room will face the pool area. Again you could ask for something close to the lobby though that could result in your view being partially obscured by the roof of the restaurants below you. If you have a Value Villa, it will be somewhere along the two hallways at the front of the resort and therefore not too far from the lobby.

I'm not all that concerned about the view. I am more concerned w/ accessibility as we will be traveling w/ a special needs child. I thought I read somewhere that the 5th & 6th floor don't have elevator service. Maybe I misunderstood. Do they?

Yes there are several elevator banks in the Lodge building. I believe during one phase of construction one of the elevator banks was not usable but I think those elevators have reopened. Perhaps the best request for you to make is to ask to be near the elevators for medical reasons.
