We are going to be purchasing a DVC membership for Animal Kingdom on Monday. What do you think our chances are reserving a 1 or 2 bedroom concierge villa the second or third week of May at this late of time?

We are going to be purchasing a DVC membership for Animal Kingdom on Monday. What do you think our chances are reserving a 1 or 2 bedroom concierge villa the second or third week of May at this late of time?

Concierge consists of 5 2BR lockoffs so there aren't very many concierge rooms available. A 2BR lockoff can be booked as a 2BR, or split into a 1BR and studio, so there is a maximum of 10 rooms. Your chances are not great since other owners have been able to book for May '08 since June but since the 7-month window hasn't opened yet, you are only competing against other AKV owners and there aren't that many of them yet so you might get lucky.

Also, in case you aren't aware, three of those 2BR lockoffs face the Sunset Savanna and the other two face the pool so you are not guaranteed to get a savanna view when you book concierge. The lack of a guaranteed savanna view has been cited as a reason for some AKV owners opting not to book a concierge room so, so far anyway, the competition for those rooms has not been quite as keen as originally anticipated.
