AKV vs BLT for Xmas 2009

My wife and I are considering purchasing the DVC. Trying to determine whether to go with the AKV or BLT. While it appears that AKV is slightly cheaper, I am tempted to go with BLT simply to have easier access to the Magic Kingdom.

My family has wanted to go to Disney during the holidays for several years. I would like to go between Thanksgiving and Christmas but cannot due to my job. So I we would have to go at peak week between Christmas and New Years.

I would assume that with BLT being new next year that it would probably book up for Christmas week at the 11 month mark with all DVC members that have BLT as their home resort. Am I correct in my thinking?

Also, if I purchase BLT, what are the odds of me landing reservations for Christmas week?

Would be as good as everyone else, with the exception that folks that have owned DVC before and know the ins and outs could know how to do it 'faster' therefore getting their ressies in sooner.

Owners will be booking that week in January. That's pressure to buy soon! If you own, just remember to call right at 9AM of the first day that you can book your stay. That's 11 months from the checkin day.

Owners at AKV will be able to book in January but BLT owners cannot book until March 1st, 2009 so if you choose BLT you have a little more time to decide. That being said I too will be on the phone for both AKV and BLT for Christmas 2009 along with MANYothers so I would be prepared by having already purchased. Remember this is the first Christmas for Kidani Village and BLT so I assume it will be in high demand.
