AKV vs AKL

I'd love to hear thoughts on why you would choose AKV studio over AKL standard room. Its $25 more per night. Is there anything that makes it better or worse?

here's a couple of guesses:

-studios have a queen bed and a sofa(bed), which is a preferable setup for couples without children who would rather sit on a sofa than a bed when watching tv or whatever.

-studios can be rented from DVC owners for $100 or less on weeknights, which is a pretty screaming good deal for a deluxe resort (even if it does cost you daily mousekeeping and limits your cancellation options).

The villas also have kitchenettes. Theres paper plates and cups and utensils, a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and small fridge. Which is good if your going to have breakfast foods or snacks in your room.

The studios are also larger as the old deluxe rooms on the 5th were converted to villas. There are some studios that are not as large but they are referred to as "value" studios.

The sleeper sofa is only double sized in the studio.

Thanks for your help guys. I think I might just go for a room and upgrade to pool view instead. We do have kids so the sofa bed is not ideal. I don't know if we will use the microwave much as we are planning on the dining plan.

I am guessing you are comparing a studio to a standard room...

You get a fridge, microwave..(mini kitchen type area), one bed, love seat (that pulls into bed)...especially nice because the room is roomy...for two people and very comfortable.

The villas are beautiful...we saw our friends this past spring. Take the villa! you will love it.

while small, we luved our value studio last Oct everything laid out well imo & the view of the savannah was amazing & the resort was so visually interesting

as for renting from an owner, i've found the AK value & standard studios tough to come by @ 'my' 7 month mark. Im on waitlist for end of June/early July-this factoring in Kidani being opening, just wouldn't count on easily renting here during busy season unless u plan early
