Sorry folks...certain it's been asked before but the search function ...well you know.

At Animal Kingdom Villas-
What exactly defines a "Value Accomodation" and how does it differ from a "Standard View"? Savannah view and Concierge I understand....thanks.

"Value" means it is a smaller room. They can be savanna views, pool views, and parking views, but they are significantly smaller than standard or savanna view rooms.

As Diane said they are simply smaller rooms with either a Savanna view or a Standard View. A Value 1-BR only sleeps 4, versus 5 in all the other 1-BRs.

...and it's not like the other resorts which also sleep four but DVC allows five. In the case of the AKV Value rooms, they have hard occupancy limits of 4/4/8 in the Studio/1B/2B rooms.

The AKV value rooms are the smallest DVC villas available--each room is smaller than its counterpart at SSR, BWV, BCV, etc.

I've seen pictures of standard AK studios, but none for the values yet. Any pics out there of just the value ones?

The layout is basically the same as the other Jambo rooms, but the Values aren't as long. They lose about 4-5 feet of depth in each room. In the studios, everything is packed together more tightly. In the 1Bs, the living room doesn't have any space for the sleeper chair and the master bedroom is much tighter with just enough room to move around the king bed.

IIRC most of the DVC villas were created by using the larger deluxe rooms (380 sq ft) at AKL / Jambo. The Values were originally the smaller standard class (340 sq ft) AKL rooms. Other DVC studios are around 360 sq ft.

bumping to see if anyone had pics of the value rooms and/or share experiences in them

Well, I don't have any pictures YET. However, in 3 weeks, I'll be staying at AKL-2 nights each in value, standard, and savannah, all studios. I'll be solo, so I'm looking at this as an opportunity to figure out what all the differences are in the accomodations. After I get back May 6, I'll have lots of pictures.

We stayed in a 1BR value in December. Didn't take any pictures because I wasn't impressed.
It is quite small. The bedroom is so tight, you have trouble opening the door all the way (if the bed is made). You just can't open the door all the way if you have blankets bunched at the end of the bed.

It serves it's purpose, but I will not stay in a value room again. JMHO :flower3:
