So has it yet been established where the standard view GV at AKV have come from for 2011? Are these being built in the part of Kidani that is still under construction? Are they the old GV's with a new designation?

I have confirmed with MS that there is a new category of "standard" GVs at Kidani only and it does not involve any new GVs that did not already exist -- the Kidani building is finished and all GVs in fact have savanna views. I have a request in to try to identify how many of the 16 total GVs at Kidani they are talking about and where along the wings they are located at Kidani.

I am thinking that it might be 2 all the way our out the end, that face the fenced area, but that is just a guess

Following up. I asked how many standard view GVs and where they are located. They emailed back that there are two standard GVs but apparently overlooked the location question so I have sent that question again.

TSMIII posted a link with the 2 Std. view GV located on the northern part of Kidani. http://www.mapquest.com/mq/8-j6cqqHfptjltoNm4Ilzo They are the grey peaked roofs. My question is why not just expand the savanna north a bit. All they would need to do is some landscaping and relocate the fence.

It's a good question. I wonder if they can, since they'd have to change the points requirements for those GVs in order to go from standard to savanna view. But if they lowered points elsewhere, perhaps they could.

It is not a lowering of points to do an offset. They had 16 GVs at Kidani and 6 at Jambo. Two of the 16 at Kidani will now be standard. What they did with the points is create a standard GV point cost per week that is quite a bit lower than GVs cost last year and a higher GV point cost per week than last year for the ones that are retaining savanna view status. In other words for two GVs they lowered the cost per week and for the rest raised them to offset the decrease for those two GVs.

Understood.

Have confirmed that the two standard GVs are those at the end of the north wing. They also provided the reason for making them standard. That is near the gate where the animals enter and leave the savannas (the fence referred to above). and other than when they are entering or leaving the animals are not really in that area during the day. Each savanna is closed at different times for two hours each day and the animals actually go off savanna for cleaning and care through that gate when a particular savanna is closed and that is likely the only time guests in those GVs will see them.

Thank you for being persistent and taking the time to confirm this.

I believe I had one of those GVs in October, and they had non-stop animals right out front everyday, all day long.

Perhaps I had a different GV?? It was far from a standard view..
I will try to find the room number..
