AKV Review w/ concierge info and PICS

I don't want to hijack her thread, but this was our favorite thing we did last May. You are going to Love This Safari. I am planning it again for next May.

We tried to get Concierge level for our anniversary trip in June 09, but it was already booked up. But reading your review is making me think that perhaps I want to wait list it.
(We're booked in a value studio right now.)

I am so enjoying reading your report. Thank you for writing it! We go in just a few weeks, we are concierge level but just a regular room. Don also is the one that booked most of my requests and changes.. ahem.. and I must say they have been wonderful. Did you get to meet anyone that helped book your trip?

I have been waitlisted for May 3 and 4th since the 11 month window at 9 AM, I didn't talk fast enough or something. I would think, unless someone cancels, it will be extremely hard. Good Luck, let us know if you get it.

I would think extremely difficult. I mentioned in the other thread about the new booking system how I was unable to get Concierge at all for the week of my trip. (I called at the beginning of our 11month window for a value, with the hopes of getting concierge our last two nights. The CM told me there were absolutely no concierge studios available at all for the rest of the week - so I didn't even bother to call back to try to get the switch to the concierge room for our last two nights.)

Wouldn't you want to at least give the waitlist a try? People do change their minds. For a special trip, I would try. I was able to get 3 nights, concierge studio for March before the new system went into effect. I know people say that it's mostly booked for the safaris, but I just wanted something different and special. He doesn't have as many vacation days as he used to have, a new company, and I'm going to be there for nearly a week before he gets there, so this is special, just for the two of us.

Thanks OP for posting a great detailed TR, with photos! We are staying AKV CL in 21 days!! DH was somewhat concerned about what food might be available in the lounge so I created a list for him from your posts, just to give him a rough idea.

Dh and I are going this Oct for our Anniversary, and we wanted CL, but they couldn't promise me the Savannah view, so I chose the view....next Oct I will definately choose CL.

Me too! I am probably going to cancel our 1st week of March 2009 trip(concierge). I'll post when I do it.

Loved your report! I have never considered staying concierge but I am seriously thinking about it now! I only hope that at the 7 month window, there would stll be something available as it is not our home resort.

I have really enjoyed your report and your pictures. We have one night booked in September to check in the day we get off the cruise and then we are doing the Sunrise Safari the next morning and then heading home. No, They have 32oz bottles of water that you can pour. I never did see any bottles that we could carry to the park. We had brought a case from home, so it was not a issue for us.

While not conceirge, we are calling tomorrow to try and get AKV, either value or standard at the 7 month mark for March 2009. I'm not sure how much of a chance we have, but I am really hoping. We did a three night stay in AKL at the end of our trip last March and are hoping to do 8 nights in the villas next year.

IN 1 week I will be waking up from our only night at AKL. Dsis gave 1 night to dh and I for a 30th anniv present. After we check out ds's will join us and we move to POP

Put yourself on the wait list. Dsis got us the room and was on wait list for Savannah view. SOmetime in May the Savanah view came through

I just got the paperwork from her and we are Studio Sav View Jambo. Do we have a good section?
