AKV Refurbishments Impacting Club Level in May, 2016

I think refurbishments follow me around. You might want to find out where I'm staying and avoid that place. We stayed at VWL December, 2015 and we'll be at AKV Jambo Club in May. However, our studio will be under refurbishment at that time, so they're moving us to a Savannah view studio, giving us club level access and refunding 21 points back into our account.

I feel your pain. I was at BWV the first week of December with cherry pickers, power washers and renovation galore. At my 11 month window, I booked AKV value studio for my family the last week of May. Geez - I'm beginning to think it's following me around, too.

We have CL in beginning of May and just got word they are refurbishing. Nothing about moving.

I have a deluxe studio savannah booked for 5 nights the end of April and trying to decide if I want to switch resorts. It's suppose to be a no parks trip and just sit at the resort and relax. What are others doing? I have never stayed at a resort with construction.

We are staying there later this month (Jan. 2016) and just got a letter in the mail yesterday about the refurb. However, it mentioned NOTHING about the club level lounge being CLOSED during our stay. We booked that darn room at 11 months and 1 second. SERIOUSLY!? I cannot believe this! We will call tomorrow to get more details, but if it's a major pain in the rear, we will expect a refund of some points. The point premium for Club Level is steep, and to have the lounge closed during our trip, what a total flop!

The refurbishment of the lounge begins in early May. You should be just fine other than some noise from room renovations during the day. Our trip is not until mid May. We are not staying club level but I am concerned about noise coming from the renovations from the lounge. Hopefully it won't impact the lobby too much.

Must be a large scale refurb. I've been watching out for a studio in May, and there are zero nights available, in any booking category, for the entire month...Jambo nor Kidani. Crazy.

I didn't see anything either, but then at 5 ish am today, Kidani has studios for most dates. I booked quickly. Maybe the refub is getting off to a slow start?

Yeah, it all opened up yesterday afternoon after lunch. May went from "nothing" to "wide open" in a matter of minutes, and I was able to book the days I needed as well.

I wish I had seen it then. We were hoping to do BLT/AKL/BWV, instead we are doing BLT/BWV/AKL.

They won't close the lounge completely; it could be temporarily located in one of the royal suites like was done when they converted rooms to DVC. Relax and enjoy your trip.

So now that the dates are upon us, what does it look like?

I have a CL in the last week of April and they have said nothing. I also have a CL in the first week of May and I just got an email saying that there will be a temporary Killimanjaro Club location.

I also have a reservation for AKL Jambo club level in early May and I received a call last week informing me that I am being moved to a savannah view 1br due to the ongoing refurbishment. I still have access to the club lounge, but they said that it was moved to a temporary location as the original is also being refurbished. Not disappointed at all...they gave me back 40+ points!

Was just there on sun/mon and they hadn't started the refurb yet on the club. Wonder where they will move it and when. Glad we got to experience it as we had never been before.
