AKV Questions

Hi everyone. We are going in mid March to AKV. We rented points from an owner. Last time we rented at BWV and had a blast. Can't wait to see AKV. I do have a few questions though. We rented a standard room so I beleive from reading on here that we will have a pool view and be close to the lobby and to Mara.

1. What floor is the lobby on and what floors might we be on?

2. We are going to get the Refillable Mugs. Is Mara the only place to refill them? Do they have a station that is self-serve? And do they have coffee and hot chocolate too - pretty sure they don't have the slushies but that would be cool.

3. I also understand that we would be pretty close to the bus stops. What level are they on? Same as the lobby or maybe level 1??

4. Is there anyplace that has free internet access (like the lobby or somewhere) Would like to just check my work e-mails.

1) -lobby on 3rd floor - you will be on 5th - assuming you are staying at Jambo House and not Kidani

2) Mara was the only place I found - and yes the machine is self serve. know they have coffee - not certain about hot chocolate.

3) you go out on the main lobby and turn left - that say there is another way - but to describe it would have to know exactly where you are staying

There is no free internet access except to DVC members in their room. Also, be aware that there is no business center where you can go and use a computer for a fee, so if you want to use internet you will need to bring your own computer.

Thanks for the replies. I like to get my fountain pop so am glad it is self serve and close by.

I have a netbook I wanted to bring. But only need to use it a few minutes a day to check e-mail. They don't have a 'buy by the minute' type of thing do they? You have to pay for each 24 hour period?

If you are a DVC owner it is free.

If you have access to a major service provider, like AOL, you can plug the phone line into your computer, find a local number, and use dial-up. Otherwise, they charge for each 24-hour period.

There is hot chocolate available. Some days it was really good and some days it was really thin. It is right next to the soda fountains.
