AKV questions

We are staying at AKV in early march. We have a 2-bedroom unit booked. Regular standard view, not value. I just read on another thread that there is no separate shower in the Jambo House rooms. Is this correct? Will there still be a jetted tub or just a regular one? Also, my biggest concern, if there is a jetted tub with a shower attached to it how deep is it? I have extremely bad knees and have a difficult time climbing in and out of anything. Will this present a problem for me? Do they have handicap units at Jambo House? Should I call and try to get one?

Correct that there is no separate shower. The jetted tub/shower in the 1BR can be difficult to enter if there is a disability -- from the floor to the top edge of the tub where you step in is almost knee high on an adult. They do have handicap accessible units and you should consider requesting one.

Thanks drusba. Do you have any idea of location or how many handicap units there are in the standard view catagory? Are there grab bars inside the jetted tubs by chance? Our tub at home with the shower door track on top is about knee high on me but we do have grab bars.

In Jambo House there are HA rooms with a roll-in shower and HA rooms with a tub. Here are the HA rooms that are shown in the floor plans for Jambo House. The floor plans are not 100% correct so I have marked with an asterisk the rooms that have been verified by someone staying in that room. For the Standard View room category there is one studio with a roll-in shower, one 1BR with a tub.

Thank you so much for posting this Lisa. It is so sweet of you to do so. Your effort of keeping track of the rooms is greatly appreciated by all. We have a 2-bedroom lockoff booked so I'm not sure how this would affect the other room. I guess I'll have to call to see if there's any HC available.
