AKV questions/suggestions

DD and I will be taking a trip just the two of us in March for 5 nights. Right now I'm booked in a Savannah view studio at Jambo. I'm WL for a studio at BLT in either lake or theme park view. No luck yet.

I have been out to AKV once and we sort of walked around but I don't remember much. Any suggestions on a room request? I think we would want something convenient to the bus stop. But it would be nice to have a nice view as well. Any suggestions?

Also, how are the buses at AKV? We will definitely be taking advantage of EMH mornings and rope drops since its just the two of us and we will want to get up early enough to do these. How far ahead do you suggest arriving at the bus stops?

To be close to bus stop, you would have be to close to lobby -- all things (pool, bus stop store, restaurants,only way to actually get out of the building) are close to lobby. However, though views are generally good anywhere, you are better off being away from the lobby. MY recommendation: request room on Zebra Trail overlooking Arusha savanna (the one in the middle of the building) and away from the lobby.

Bus system: one of the best on site. Two stops, Kidani to Jambo for busses going to parks, and Jambo to Kidani for those going to Downtown Disney. As with anywhere can get delays but have experienced fewest there. Head and shoulders above the crud multiple resort bus systems you have at BWV, BLT, or VWL. Can sometimes have issue of standing room only at Jambo at very beginning of rush hour in the morning since Jambo is scecond stop.

Trips to parks once on the bus are about 8 minutes to AKV, and 20 to 25 to other parks. Should probably try to get bus leaving 45 minutes or so before park opening in morning if you want to make rope drop.

Thanks! DD and I won't mind standing if we have to. Its just the two of us so it won't be a big deal. We'll just be anxious to get to the park. We were definitely spoiled on our last trip by walking to MK from BLT. We will probably spend most of our time in either MK or DHS. I'm on a WL for BLT but only really for the convenience of it. I love the idea of staying at AKV. I thought it was very beautiful inside and the feeling is wonderful like the Wilderness Lodge.

I will call tomorrow and see if I can put a request on or reservation for the trail you suggested. I hate to have the opportunity to be in a Savannah view room and not take advantage of it but I know that we will probably not be in the room much. DD is going to want to take advantage of it being just the two of us and spend as much time in the parks as we can. We don't get to do that with DH and DS along.
