AKV purchase price

Im sorry if this has been asked. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the cost per point for the AKV. I am interested in a 1 bedroom at Kidani village. I have figured that the bare minimum amount of points I need to purchase if traveling during the first week in July (magic season sunday-thursday) Savannah view would be 150 points. How much are the points selling for? I also wanted to know if you recommend purchasing the minimum amt or getting a little more Im trying to get together a "presentation" for DH

The 150 points would be for the Savannah View. I can't help with how many to buy - we are doing the 160 buy-in, but struggled with whether to do the 100 AKV promo that is going on right now. Good luck with the presentation

The AKV 100 promo you mentioned... does that mean $100 per point?

The price is $104/pt but there is a promo running where you get $8 off, so it's $96/pt -- plus there's also some incentives that include one-time extra points (Developers Points), $500 in Disney Visa rewards if you use your card for the down payment, and $500 prepaid Visa card. It all depends on how many points you buy as far as what incentives you qualify for.

disneycamelbackids - typically you have to purchase 160 point buy in if you buy from Disney. There has been a promotion where you can buy 100 points initially at AKV. I'm not sure if this is the first time it has ever been offered, but I thought I read here on the boards it was. We just decided since we were doing it, to take the plunge.

I just talked with my rep this morning and we were offered 104 per point, and $8 credit that we could put towards our down payment, and matching points for the SSR that need to be used in 12 months.

My DH just stopped at Doorway to Dreams an hour or so ago. Next weekend is their 1st anniversary celebration. They told him they had exclusive logo stuff coming in for next weekend (it's not there yet) and that a new AKLV incentive would be announced.

For example you are saying if you were purchasing 160 points at a typical 104 per pt but you are able to purchase at 96 per pt (8$credit) and that savings of 1,280 went toward the down payment? If so I really like that.... I would like to put more on a down payment.Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes...if you are purchasing 160 pts you would end up paying $96 per point. Plus you'd get 160 one-time use developers points which could be used at SSR within the next year. You'd also get $500 Disney Reward if you are an existing Disney Visa cardholder and put the downpayment on your card (I believe that incentive expires 9/15/08). You would receive your 160 pts for '08, but since they can't be used @ AKV until after 5/09...they could be banked into your '09 UY. You wouldn't start paying any maintenance fees until 5/09 as well.

So in a nutshell...you'd have the 160 developers pts to use this year @ SSR. You'd bank this years '08 AKV pts so you'd actually have double the points to use in '09. And you wouldn't have to worry about maintenance fees until '09.
