We are already booked at VGF for our April vacation. Do you think this resort will have enough for the kids to do...ages 8 and 7, or is Animal Kingdom better? Is there another resort recommended. Not all resorts have rooms available, but I have noticed AKV and SSR still do. We picked VGF because we had banked points to use and borrowed into 2014. Is it worth borrowing to stay there. It looks amazing, and that is why we chose it. Sort of like a one time thing. Thoughts?

Everyone has different tastes and opinions on what they like. Stay at each resort at least once and record your pluses and minuses. Then you can pick your favorite resorts based on which park you will be visiting.

That is true. I'm thinking we will keep our reservation were it is. Who knows if we will ever have the points or they will have availability at 7 months again.

I would stay with VGF. You are a boat ride or monorail ride from The Polynesian, Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge/Ft Wilderness. Just look up resort activities at each of those resorts.

That's a great point about those resort's activities. Plus, I always think it's fun to try each resort and you already have the reservation.

We are really looking forward to staying at VGF this Spring!

I never thought about looking at activities at other local resorts. Great idea. I love the location of VGF. That's the thing that made me hesitant about AKV, they are so far away. Plus it seems easier to get a room at 7 months.

We recently stayed at VGF for about 8 nights and added one night at AKL at the end of our stay. VGF is just beautiful and my kids (3 & 7) had a great time. It is a good location to tour around to the other resorts as well. The move was a little annoying but that last day at AKL was fantastic as well for different reasons - my 7 year old animal lover liked the resort more since it was exciting to be at. If you are torn and can stomach the move, maybe consider a bit of a split stay instead of substituting one for the other?

I personally stay put! I am dying to add nights to VGF to our already booked May trip at AKV, but unfortunately there is no availability of our dates. We love AKV. There definitely is a ton of things to do for the kids. One of the may reasons we go back trip after trip. What about doing a split stay between the two?
