I was just wondering if anyone has ever left something in a room when they checked out and actually had it returned. This is the second time this has happened and both times we were at Kadani.
Let me first say that we travel a LOT! It seems that at least once a month we are in a hotel somewhere so we have gotten pretty good about making sure we have everything when we check out. I always take extra time to sweep the room and bathroom right as we are walking out.
So last year we stayed at Kadani and I had left a pair of hidden mickey shaped earrings out on the ledge in the bathroom on purpose. I was going to put them on right before we left and I totally forgot about them. We rushed down to get the Magical Express and as soon as we boarded the plane I noticed I forgot to put them in .totally my fault. So we get home a few hours later and I immediately call the resort. I am told to call back first thing in the morning. I call back and leave a detailed message and I receive a call a few days later saying they have not been turned in. OK, it is possible that they swept them in the trash and housekeeping really never found them.
So here we are the following year. This time I had my iPhone charger plugged into the outlet behind the nightstand. I physically had to move the nightstand to get to the outlet so it was well hidden. I swear my DH said he got both phone chargers and put them in the normal bag where we always keep them. Apparently he didnt (thats a whole different story). So assuming he got the charger, as he said he did, I do my final sweep and the room is clear. Off we go to the airport.
So we get home that night and my charger isnt there. I ask DH and he said he never got it .anyway Point is the charger was still plugged into the wall. So I call Kadani immediately because we had friends traveling with us and they were not checking out until the following day thinking they could grab my charger and bring it home for me. Of course someone had already checked into that room and housekeeping was gone for the day. It was Labor Day weekend and we checked out on Sunday so the things found by housekeeping would not be processed by lost and found until Tuesday is what I was told when I called. I was told to call back on Tues which I did and they said to call back again because it may not have been processed. I finally call back and they said it was never found .REALLY? How can you not see an iPhone charger plugged into an outlet??? Sorry I am a little upset.
I just find it a bit suspicious that this has happened twice and both times I was not able to retrieve my things. I may understand the earrings, but iPhone charger? Has anyone ever gotten there things back? It really bothers me that they would be that dishonest and makes me nervous about letting anyone in for housekeeping.
