Last month I bought AKV and my points are deeded to the lodge. They are soon to be selling KIDANI points. Does it affect my membership in any way if I own at the lodge and not KIDANI?
No, it will not affect your ability to make reservations at AKV or any other resort. Most members probably never get to stay in the "unit" they own. Owning part of a Jambo unit does not prevent you from being able to reserve at Kidani.
As Doc said, it won't make any difference. As far as MS is concerned, you are an AKV owner. It doesn't matter "where" at AKV your contract is deeded. So you will be seen and treated just like any other AKV member and have full home resort booking privileges for all of AKV as it is built and finished.
In order to have AKV, the first thing DVC did was convert some of the existing rooms at AKL into DVC units. Those units have been completed and an additional building called Kidani is being built adjacent to AKL to complete the AKV complex. If you book a stay at AKV in the future, when Kidani is complete, depending on the room type you desire (value and concierge will only be in the converted AKL section), you may be in the converted rooms at AKL (which are smaller than the new units will be) or you may be in Kidani.
If you are standing in the parking lot looking at the entrance to AKL, Kidani will be immediately to the left across the Sunset Savannah (if you are that familiar with the resort). It will be shaped like a backwards number 3 with the bottom of the 3 adjacent to the left front of the AKL.
