At AKV Kidani right now We are OKW owners and have only stayed at OKW since we have been owners. My wife told me last night that she likes Kidani better. We have a Savannah view which in wonderful. The decorating is wonderful, classy and not tacky. What a great place to stay. Will try and do a trip report when I return.

How nice that you gave Kidani a try and it's great that you and she like it so much!

Thats what is great about DVC.....you try other resorts and you wind up loving them all:cloud9:
Have a great trip.

How far out did you need to make a reservation and were the accommodations you required readily available or did you have to go on the wait list.

We are also OKW owners and really loved discovering Kidani. It definitely feels like a DVC and less like a hotel. Jambo feels like a hotel, so we are not as fond of it. OKW still is our favorite though. I just love the tropical country club vibe.

I'm so glad to hear this! Last week I changed a reservation from OKW to Kidani for 2 weeks from today, and I'm a little anxious about it having never stayed at AKV. Was glad to be able to get a savanna view 1 bedroom on such short notice. Hope you have a great trip!

Also at Kidani now and am pleasantly surprised. Had no real desire to stay here before, but it was available at three months out. Our two bedroom feels huge. Savannah view is great for the kids, and Sanaa was a great meal. Looking forward to more trips here. Now I have to find a step stool to get into that bed.

glad to hear it....taking a trip in May to Kidnai versus OKW and we were a bit worried sine we love OKW over all the other resorts. We also have a savanah view...I am sure the kids will love that.

am looking forward to trying Kidani, have already done Jambo and loved it there.

:lovestruc Kidani!!!!! Glad you love it too OP!

I would stay there for every trip from here on out, but DH wants to try another resort this year so we may try for BCV or BWV. I guess it didn't help that this year, we had the same room as last year only 2 floors higher. He felt like it was too much of the same (same view, parking area, elevator, floor plan). To me, any stay at Kidani is amazing though!!!!

Stayed at Kidani on opening weekend in 2008 and we loved it!!

Stayed at Jambo last Oct. and loved it.

Just booked a 10 night stay at Kidani for August in a 1 bedroom standard view (I like looking at the animals but couldn't spend the extra points, so we'll just go sit in the viewing areas if we want to see the savannah. Also, would have preferred Jambo, but the extra bathroom in the 1 bedrooms at Kidani is a must with 2 daughters).

Glad we are not the only ones that love Kidani. Have a great time!!

We just stayed at Jambo for the first time last month. My wife absolutely loved it, I think it's her favorite of where we've stayed (BWV, SSR, OKW and AKV-J).

We walked over to Kidani, but we much prefer the proximity of everything (restaurants, store, etc.) to be close so felt like we'd like Jambo more. Having the main lobby with Mara, Jiko and Boma's all right there was a win for us.

But, yes, everything about AKV and AKL is both gorgeous, immersive and very enjoyable. We did have a car, so the concern of proximity to things wasn't too much of an issue. Though, it was about 15 minutes to get to TTC even driving. We put over 200 miles on our rental car in a week staying only on Disney property and driving from/to MCO.

Would definitely go back. We get to try BLT in October, looking forward to that.

Just booked a 2BR Savannah view @ Kidani for the end of April/May. We are SSR owners, and this is the first time we are venturing out. DD 10 is an animal geek so we decided to try AKV, and since we have been Mouse free since Jan 2009, we splurged on a 2BR.

Happy dance! :yay:

Thanks...staying @ AKV for the first time in April. Can't wait...though I'm afraid I'll miss my home. It's the first time I'm "stepping out" on it. :)
