I have not stayed at AKV yet, Dec. trip booked, however I have noticed a lot of conversation regarding the bathrooms between kadani and Jambo. I know Kadani will have an extra bathroom, but is the master bath (Jacuzzi tub) different between the two. All 1br, 2br, and GV have a jacuzzi tub at Jambo, right? Are there seperate showers at either? Any other bathroom descriptions and differences between Kidani and Jambo would be a great help. Is anyone going to change their Jambo reservation from Jambo to Kidani because of this.
Thanks.

I do not know about GV at Jambo, but the 1-2 bedroom master baths there do not have a separate whirlpool tub. The shower/tub is one unit. There will be separate shower unit and whirlpool tub in the master bathroom in Kidani. I'm waiting to Kidani to book any 2 bedrooms at AKV because of that difference. I had a 1 bedroom in Jambo...I liked the accomodations for the 3 adults who used the room, except that the tub was hard for me to climb into. None of us used the whirlpool feature, so a shower unit would have been more convenient for us.

has anyone used the jacuzzi tubs at Jambo? What did you think? are they comparable to the jacuzzi's in the traditional 1 and 2 br?

I think that the "ledge" to get over to get into the tub is wider in the unit in Jambo than it is in VWL's jacuzzi. That's the unit I most often use.

There is a big difference in the tubs of AKV (Both Jambo and Kidani)and the other DVC resorts.

The tubs are standard size (36 in length) but are deep like soaking tubs with high sides and with jets. The shower head is above the tub in Jambo.

In Kidani, the same size tub with jets will be used, but the shower will be separate. Because of the additional full bath in the larger units of Kidani, the master bath will be a true master bath off the bedroom and won't be shared with the living area guests.

Truthfully, soaking tubs are meant to have deck mounted fixtures, that's why the side of the tub is wider to accomodate the fixtures. Because Jambo did not have room for a separate shower and a tub they combined them.

The other DVC 1 bed and up units have a wide corner tub with jets. It is wider so it does not have to be as tall on the sides. That's why they are easier to step into. Separate walk in shower. The walk in shower and commode area are shared with guest area via doors.

OKW and HHI have huge jet tubs with built in seats and jets. Not sure what VB has only DVC I have not stayed in.

We remodeled our bathroom years ago, and I so wanted a soaking jet tub in my small master bathroom, that I took out the overhead shower and deck mounted my fixtures to achieve the spa look and feel.
